Deneb + server reset == screw the Serco
Whenever you restart the server the Deneb score for the week gets screwed up, as if it is loading a cached state you copied over from wherever you tested the build (assumption on my part)
this usually falls in favour of the Itani. Usually we are winning anyways but about 2 weeks ago the Serco were winning and a sever reset destroyed it.

Really?! Ok, that's fascinating, we'll look into it.
its one of the reasons the serco dont do BS too much. With the reset, all of the roid/turret sectors reset to itani owned, as they do whenever (as far as i could tell) the map itself resets to zero. This means the itani, by default, always start with a sizable lead.
No, this wasn't a zero reset. It reset to what looked like a mid-thursday map with the Itani winning. I wish i'd gotten before/after screenshots, but it was something like 20 or so more sectors claimed after the server reboot.
Those turret sectors don't count.

According to Mommerath, when the current dynamic system in deneb was put in place, the turret sectors do indeed count, as do the station sectors (which are always Itani).
Whether or not this has been changed is something that I personally haven't heard news of. Though at the time Mom did say he'd "look into it"

This still seems to be the case, some people watched the sector count between server restarts the other day and it was jumping up 20-30 sectors post restart
As long as we're talking about the gross bias toward the Itani Nation, I'd like to ask why there are no Serco stations in Deneb? Or why the stations that are in Deneb are always Itani and can't be captured. This clearly favors the Itani who can home in Deneb, but not the Serco who have to home in Geira Rutilus. I know the author of the backstory and the developers really, really, really like the Itani, but that shouldn't have to mean that the gameplay itself also favors the Itani.
If this is now a discussion about Serco vs Itani bias, then I'd like to point out that both CTC and the greyspace blockades favour Serco over Itani because there's only a single entry point into Itani space from greyspace.
On-topic, when the server reset a few days ago and the scores jumped, it didn't seem to swing in favour of Itani more than it already was. Both scores seemed to jump a proportional amount, from what I could tell.

Not that the blockade has ever stopped anybody before; I've piloted through an Itani blockade dozens of times - about 3/4 of the time they just look at me, and the other 1/4 of the time a Trident way off in the distance takes pot shots that never connect. I can't imagine it's much different for the Itani.
I've had that blockade keep ARF_01 in Jallik for -hours-. The Serco get the luxury of going through a different wormhole...
Additionally, Edras I-2 tends to have much more traffic than the Serco wormholes, which keeps the sector awake longer and lets the blockade stay directly on top of the wormhole more often.

hey guys fuck off and get your own thread
this is about Deneb sectors being buggered after a restart

I see a dip in the activity graph about 12 hours ago. Was there a server restart?
If so, I notice that the Deneb map on the production server looks very much like test server. Problem solved? (same bug that was affecting CtC stats perhaps?)

I had already suggested it was being cached or stored somewhere else and you have just confirmed it. Thanks
This is still happening.
Here's before the server reboot today:
10:09 draugbot> Border Skirmish Score -- Itani: 20 / Serco: 17
Here's after the reboot:
16:49 %slime73> Border Skirmish Score -- Itani: 69 / Serco: 56
All i've got is IRC logs unfortunately.

Hmm, possibly my fault , since I asked ray for a restart due to the lack of voys , and general stickiness.
However, the BS anomalous reset is a bug, so add to the list .
