Diappearing cargo
Yes, this is still a problem, and it's really aggravating.
More than half of the NPC moths I blow up are empty.
Most recently, I destroyed two TPG faction moths in Latos H2. They were from two different convoys, and separated by a few minutes. Both moths dropped 6cu of scrap metal and no cargo upon being destroyed. In both cases the moths were accompanied by a Trident frigate and one or two strike craft escorts.

My observation is that most convoys accompanied by Tridents or Connies tend to be empty or only have their cargo holds partially full.
Aye. Basically if a trident is around, forget popping anything else in the voy. And ya devs, this is still not right.

Combine that with the fact that capships appear to be present in 80% or more of convoys and we have ourselves a serious problem.

Are you using a cargo scanner to verify that the moths actually have something in them before they are blown up? Basically is it possible that the cargo isn't disappearing, but rather just isn't there to begin with?

A possibly related issue is that the escorts seem to be paying like they are empty, I've been getting nothing but 10-30k recently for some missions..

Sometimes, and it is well documented that ships which scan full drop no cargo.
However, even if the ships were empty to begin with, it is still a bug. It makes no sense for convoys of empty moths to fly around.

Agreed, just trying to pinpoint the source of the bug :).

Whatever 'it' actually is, is obviously a bug, but Atice's question is the one I want answered right now. Yes, we've had ships that scanned as full and then were empty, but I fixed the only cause of it I was aware of, and hadn't heard from anyone that it was still a problem, until today.
So... when, exactly, is the last time someone scanned one of these ships, then boomed it, and was certain they were looking at that ship's wreckage, sans any cargo. If they scan full, but aren't, a completely different area of the code is responsible than if their emptiness is agreed on by the scanner.

Thanks for the comment, mom. I'll start carrying a scanner for the next little while and let you know what I find.
I have definitely seen cases recently where a ship or an entire convoy except for the cappy scanned empty. I generally don't bother to pop those ones, but I can start confirming their emptiness if that would also help.
