Apparently I managed to buddy myself (possibly more than once). However, I can't seem to remove myself from the buddy list, and it's annoying seeing that I'm online (twice).

edit: I realize this is probably a very low priority. just letting you guys know.
edit2: any chance you could now remove me from my buddy list if nothing else? I tried buddying myself again (to test), and am now showing up 3 times...

edit3: now this is really, really weird. Not only did I buddy myself 3 times, but I show up in 3 different locations (not one of which I was in). See screen.

Well, I'm no longer showing up on my own buddy list. Either you guys removed me from my buddy list (in which case, thanks!), or the bug is intermittent.

I just logged back on, so it's possible that the bug only lasts through one session. Though I don't know why I would have buddied myself 3 times in one session...

I remember having this problem from a couple years back, I think. Mecha and I played around with it a bit, but I can't find any bug post made on the topic. It mimicked this behaviour exactly.

So like typing /buddy invite "Atice" and then /buddy accept "Atice" works?

When I try it, I get 'Fine, you are your own buddy.' when I do /buddy invite "raybondo".

I get the same result ("Fine, you are your own buddy"). However, if you wait a bit, you'll start showing up in your buddy list. I can try to verify that.

Heh, yup. /buddy invite Atice gives me the "fine, you are your own buddy" thing, and then immediately afterwords /buddy online shows myself as online.

However, the repeated showing of my name I haven't been able to reproduce yet (I think there is a delay, but haven't verified).

Okay, it's happening again. Except this time I didn't buddy myself. I buddied two others. I'm showing up on my buddy list twice... once where the person I buddied was when he first accepted my buddy request, and once where another person I buddied in this session actually is.

edit: it's completely possible that attempting to buddy myself did not cause the problem (as per the OP), but was rather an unfortunate coincidence which misdirected my understanding of the underlying cause.

Yeah. This happened to me today. What's happening is that right after you buddy someone, they show up as you on your buddy list. I think it's temporary and repairs itself after you or the buddy log off.
