Whether I'm escorting or just hunting, the same thing has happened almost every time out of around 18.
Voy launches from station (e.g., Axia voy from Arta C. L-2 going to Helios B-14, consisting of Moth Heavy, Taur, and Atlas... all with full holds of Rail gun Mk III), I scan it and see it's worth something, I chase it, then when I scan the ships' holds again in the next sector, they read as "Cargo Hold Empty." If I test this by destroying one or two, they are indeed all empty.
This is really, really annoying.

My relatives observe the same thing as Dr L .
I also see a lag in cargo pickup in space: run over some cargo and it lands in your hold a good while later .

Someone actually had a player taur drop 96 cu of stuff last night. All sorts of weird shit going on.
Hmm. Yeah, I noticed the missing cargo once too, but tried it again and couldn't reproduce it. There's definitely something odd with that.
Like I reported earlier in the update announce thread, I can confirm this bug. I can also confirm troubles picking up cargo in space.
One more thing, voys with cap ships often stuck in roid sectors. Odia O-7 or Sedina B-8 is enough to cause problems. It happened to me many times in various sectors. Re-docking or shooting *sometimes* make it moving again. Waiting 10 minutes would help too.

I found a pattern. Weapons disappear after the first jump, trade goods do not.
All equip-able items disappear, yeah.
I thought I saw a load of heavy power cells evade these gremlins once.
i lied. powercells vanish too.
Hmm, that's an interesting observation and I think is key to solving this problem.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
Found the problem and the fix is being propagated out. It will not be fixed on sectors that always have someone in them unless we kill that sector.
You should kill those sectors, some of the bots NEVER log off.
Yeah, we usually do that.
This is still happening, the cargo is there you blow the ship up it's gone. Or you scan the ship, the cargos there then after one jump it vanishes. It seems to be random, Corvus Holo Discs didn't disappear, Janitorial Suplies did't, but then Lightning Mines did and Iophase Mining Beams did. Is there a newly made list of cargos that aren't allowd to drop after npc's are killed?
Hm, what sector was this in? I'll check the logs from that sector.
ukari L-14
and again same sector Ukari L-14, 120 x Hvy Storm Radar extenders
I blow up the hvy moth = 6 x 1cu scrap metal nothing more

Ok, it should be working in that sector now.
thanks raybondo
I experienced something similar to this last night. I'm not sure whether or not it's related to this issue, but I'll mention it here and if it's actually unrelated I can make a new thread for it.
I mentioned this to momerath at one point in-game, but in the interest of having this on-record I'll repeat it here.
I killed somewhere on the order of 8-10 convoy moths last night, most before the update but some before. In every case, they dropped only 6 cu of scrap metal and no cargo. I did not have a cargo scanner equipped on my ship.
This ended up happening in just about every greyspace wormhole between Ukari and Edras.
