Add Windows 7 to your Account info options 'cause it's what I use full time =)

I know it's just vista reskinned but there is enough of a difference to warrant the addition.

Thats not a bug, and I am sure that once it is out, they will add Windows 7 to the account screen...

This forum is the "discuss bugs and problems" forum. The fact that I use Windows 7 and have for months, and can't select it as my OS indicates that;

A) it's out
B) it's a problem if I can't choose it as my OS and they expect accurate information.

I'm not sure if it's /really/ an important "bug" that they add pre-release OSes to their account info list. For example, Snow Leopard isn't out yet, despite being widely available to ADC members.

I use WIndows 7, it's a pre-release candidate, it's not *out*. Infact, when it comes *out* we will have to reload our machines *again*.

Its *out* when you can buy it in the shops. It is NOT out because you can get a beta from some torrent site.

It's a bug when it's broken, the account info screen is not. It's a suggestion at best, and probably belongs either http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3 or http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/4 .

Incarnate wanted me to make sure my Account Information was correct. It's not because I can't choose the OS I use, so I submit it as a "problem" on this forum; the "problem" forum. It may not be an important problem, but it's not up to the users to triage the defects that come in.

Any operating system that you use to play this game is a valid system that should have an option in the list, especially if the developers want accurate information which I kinda assume they do.. SINCE THEY ASKED.

More over, If I am given the OS by the OS creator directly from their website or (as in my case) handed the disc directly from one of the developers grubby little hands -- then it's out. Especially considering VO is a game created by developers that might have to actually, I dunno.. support that OS..

As to this post; it is a valid post and a valid problem whether you agree with it or not.. I'm done posting here now and wont read this thread again, but you two feel free to lugubriously bewail how I've overreacted and treated you wrongly..

To Incarnate and the VO staff.. Why is your forum full of pedantic trolls? Why do you allow people to be jerks to one another on here? It's directly against your rules of conduct yet you don't enforce them what so ever..

I have posted a few different threads trying to be helpful and informative and I get nothing but hassle from the users.

Everyone talks about how great the VO community is and yet each time I try to be helpful or make a suggestion I get people flaming me or acting generally trollish.

Some people wonder at the low population of VO, I'm beginning to get the picture as to the problem.

I think the main reason people say this is a nice community is because there aren't very many people like you around.

I use 3 OS's to play VO why don't I have a multi choice!

Palamedes, I know you said you would not read this again, but I know better...you will.

All forums have trolls. Way of life. The good community you heard about is actually in the game. Ask a few questions in 100 and you'll see. Even those that flame in here will usually help you out in some way. It's not perfect, but it's usually civil in there.

Trolling forums is a form of entertainment for some people. You don't know them, they don't know you...why let them bother you.

It's important to note that listing a pre-released OS will confuse the hell out of less knowledgeable users... and that is BAD.

Does that end the discussion? Cause I think it does. If you are anal-retentive about making sure the Devs have accurate information, you can email them (but please don't... instead, just tone down the OCD a dash).

I did not intend to flame anyone, I was just pointing out facts. If anyone can depute them I expect them to do so in a reasonable manner, can someone please point out to me where I flamed this guy? So I can better myself.

There is no problem, just post to the bugs forum with a BUG and point out that you are using Windows 7. You can select Windows Vista for now, because its the same OS, right now.

You do not need to select your correct OS on the account info page, infact, that is ignored by most of us. Please give a correct description of your OS/System specs in a bug report.

For instance, if I run into a bug with vo, my first few lines of my bug report start like this:

OS: Whatever I'm using at the time.
CPU: Intel Quad Q6600
GPU: ATI HD 3870x2
RAM: 4 Gig DDR2

Also you cannot expect the devs of this game to fix bugs in an Operating System that is not even released yet, it's called a beta because *it* has bugs.
