"just because their president is as intelligent as a door"

Bush is NOT as intelligent as a door... the door wins, hands-down.

Ordinary people who are stupid aren't terribly scary to me, and Bush isn't nearly as stupid as the media portrays him. He is constantly misunderestimated. What truly scares me is not when elected public officials try to open a locked door, or have occaisional trouble speaking clearly, it is when they do truly stupid things that cause international incidents.

Wow. Never thought I'd see that.

You don't even have to ask questions about the world. Just look at Canada:

Just in case you are German and think this could never be possible in Europe:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pA9-O5d8pVc

To give a partial translation:

Q: From what country is George Bush?
A: ... ... not from Germany and not from Europe, I know that because he speaks American or English, so I think Great Britain?!?

Q: Hussein comes from which country?
A: He speaks American too or English, so from the same city, I would say also Great Britain, or America, I don't know.

Q: What is the surname of George Bush?
A: ... the surname of George Bush? I only know that his name is George Bush
Q: Different question, Saddam Hussein, what is his first name?
A: ... the first name of Saddam Hussein? I know him only by his surname because they [in TV] don't write the complete name ...

From what I've seen, it seems to me that educational standards in the USA can be relatively decent - most notably when compared to the rocks some of the worst intellectual snobs live under.

I wonder how many people they talked to and how many of those gave answers that made sense. I can not believe everyone they asked gave these answers. You can find people that do not know answers to these questions in every country in the world.
There is always a way to make someone or some country looks stupid also.

That is true mdaniel but its not that scary.
What could, for instance, Albanians do? Throw rocks at their neighbours?
Rest of the world are not exactly, what you can call, nuclear superpowers.

Vox Popoli

Interview enough people and you can let 'the people' say whatever you want.
