Whilst i was playing last night ( Monday ) with ship / weapon configs i found myself buying a Marauder, however when i clicked buy i got a brief flash of another ship called the 'Spectre'
What is it / was it. Where is it / was it and can i buy one soon??

I see the "Observer", and it looks like a bus.

Ahhh someone else has seen it too, c'mon someone give us a clue.

spectre.. wasnt that what the bus was called back in 2.something or other when i started. or maybe the wraith was called that.

At that time, the bus model was the Red Heavy. The Prometheus as we know it today did not exist.

oooooo i thought it was just me seeing things. I thought i saw Observer appear.
Are there hidden ships too then Devs???

Gold :
Light = Hornet
Medium = Centaur
Heavy = Ragnarok

Blue :
Light = Centurion
Medium = Atlas
Heavy = Wraith

Red :
Light = Vulture
Medium = Warthog
Heavy = ???

What was reds heavy? When I joined the bus was available to all and was free! Damn, I can't remember and it's gonna annoy me all day!

The reds had the Prometheus. It was the other two specials that didn't come around until 3.2.

the bus was originally called the Prometheus before it got replaced and made the free EC-88

The EC-88 was red's heavy. Then the Prometheus came out and reds had two heavies.

Maybe not anymore. I looked everywhere through the code, and I don't remember anything like that. Maybe we used to have "observer". I think we had "spectator" long ago, and that might be stale code sitting around somewhere.

It was a fine ship until people called it the bus.

There's no "spectre" nor "observer" anywhere in the code or data, and there never was.

Must be the code gnomes, then... :P

Uhhh... I saw observer also. It uses the bus model. I actually managed to get that screen to stick somehow. I bought one but it had zero ports and it wouldn't let me leave the station. I wish I had kept it to take screenshots etc. I have never seen the spectre, however. The devs are hiding something...

That *did* sound oddly like what the government says for coverups... :P
