Vendetta 1.8.156

Nov 27, 2010 DeathSpores link
- Three new Optical Sensor manufacturing missions, located in the
Conquerable Stations.
- Bounty Hunter license for a given faction is lost if the faction
standing for that faction drops to Hate or lower.
- Buddies can now be optionally notified of your location. Click the
checkbox next to their name in your Buddies list to toggle the
notification. A checked box means your buddy is notified of your
current location. An unchecked box lets your buddy be only notified
of your login status (Logged In/Not Logged In).
- Fixed a lua error when trying to change joystick or keyboard
bindings from the Input Options menu.

what the hell do these optical sensors do exactly?
Nov 28, 2010 Pizzasgood link
I imagine they detect the presence and strength of light with wavelengths in the vicinity of the visible-to-humans bit of the spectrum and output the data as a pattern of electrical signals.

want me to explain to you the complex mecanics of my boot going up yer arse for being a smartass?
Nov 28, 2010 Pizzasgood link
Better the smart variety than the dumb. ;)

I'll have to agree with you on that one *Lecter this is your cue.

But in all seriousness has anyone crafted some of these?

Why do the observers drop an item 10X their size?
Nov 30, 2010 PaKettle link
Removal of the surrounding metal that restrained its size....

It seems to me the most illogical choice that drop.

OR
that optics is a gas balloon, that was compressed into 1cu inside the bot, but expands wildly into 150cu once exposed to space vacuum...
Dec 01, 2010 TehRunner link
to take from the bug thread on this very topic: optics are mighty precious and are made of glass. Thus they are packaged so that when a moth dances with a guardian said optics do not end up in 1737593 little pieces.
Dec 01, 2010 Lord~spidey link
150cu is still a bit much...

i think it would make much more sense if observers dropped 10cu partially damaged optic sytem and you needed like 5~10 to make 3 optic systems

Sorry Spidey, I'm out skiing for the week. Y'all have fun now, ya hear?
