Vendetta Online banners

I had to cook up some promo-specific banners for an upcoming promotion, so I made these at the same time. People have been asking for banners for awhile, and the last animated-gif one was a little large for some, so.. here are some more "normal" banners. I'll make some "skyscrapers" and stuff too at some point, when I get a chance.

These are about 35kB each:

For good measure, here's the animated-GIF banner (~50kB):

um... the images aren't showing up in your post, but if i look at the page source and go to the locations manually i can see them. What gives?

On a more related note: "Cool!"

Weird. They show up for me in Firefox, Chrome and IE8. Dunno why it isn't working for you.

Images in other posts in this forum always work for me too. shrug.

Cool. Maybe a little heavy on the JPEG compression, but cool nonetheless.

Very nice, and glad to see the promotion happening.

u should get some videos for ad's.

The banners are nice though

rogue: heh. I have them in PNG, too, if you want "high quality" or something. Most sites are pretty obsessed with keeping the file sizes small. It's a libJPEG "90% quality" export.

breazle: video banners are a big pain. Embedded flash player, streaming some crap. Plus hosting and bandwidth for the stream. I have looked at it though.

I like the banners, my only suggestion is that you get more interesting background shots such as explosions or combat of some sort. The shots are very nice, I just think if there was more action in them (like EVE ads which usually show warfare) then they would be more effective.

If you want to send me the PNGs, I'd be glad to host them for you and put up some free advertising. Not that the, you know, 10 visitors a day I get are really a big audience...

I think you might have my e-mail somewhere or other. :-)

inc on the last one it should say EXPLORE! im not quite sure what EXPORE is and maybe in the second one change it to elaborate trading & mining because elaborate trading, mining just looks like mining was tagged on at the end.

hahah, shit he beat me to it... I can see them in Safari ;)

They are good inc!

EXPORE!

Fine, I'll fix that ;)

[EDIT], ok, fixed. Also, per the JPEG-artifact complaints, I recompressed them to "96" on libJPEG (irfanview exporter). They're now about 35kB apiece instead of 24kB.

Also, for people who really want the PNGs, they can be found at the same urls, with the PNG extension.

[EDIT2] Argh, apparently I redid the wrong banner.

[EDIT3] Ok, NOW they're updated. You'll need to shift-reload or something to see them.

If you can't see them turn off AdBlock Plus.

Those are first-rate.

JPEGs look much better now, thanks Inc.

They seem a bit... bland actually.

I didn't have a lot of time to spend, I'm still very under the weather, I just threw them together. I assumed they would be better than nothing.

Actually, the images don't show up for me either Inc. Firefox 3.0.11. Got me.
Jul 18, 2009 Whistler link
Firefox 3.0.11 will show the images if you disable ABP for the site.

I don't think they look bland at all for banners. They pop, the give all the relevant details, and the graphics are lush without being too busy.
