I'm going to hold off until early next week for the newspost, if that's cool. I'm trying to finish up this BS design stuff before the weekend, so it'll be ready for Michael. I've been held up a bit with some time searching logfiles over administrative issues, some health stuff, and other crap. FYI.

I'll try to get a newspost out Mon night. There will be a release tonight with a bunch of cool stuff, like:

- No FF in Latos M7
- Serco/Itani ships repositioned in BS for better warp-in usage
- Jump in/out sound effects
..various other things

Schweet. Some recently requested stuff, and some "Soon" stuff becoming "Now" stuff.

And stuff.

*** Vendetta 1.8.60
- Border Skirmish capships repositioned more appropriately for Serco/Itani jump-in locations.
- Friendly Fire has been enabled in Latos M-7.
- Warp in and Warp/Jump out effects now have sound.
- Targeted ships now show health and shield strength percent on health bar.
- Sector notes now have multi-line support.
- A notification line is now printed in the console to show that custom interface code was loaded, if any.
- The chat log /clear command now properly clears the chat log.
- Added /help and /nation helper commands to quickly go to channels 1 and 11 respectively.
- The mission notification icon on the HUD now jumps further to get your attention.
- New keyboard bind menu. Mouse over the command to change, click once, and press the key to bind to the command. Press 'Esc' to cancel. To clear all keys from a command, hover over the command and press 'delete'.

I like the jump sound. It seems like having turbo on prevents the jump sound from occurring, but perhaps that's just my system.

So no change to Latos M-7 then? :P

Uhumm, what? Typing /1(space) or /11(space) kind of does that much faster, so uhum, waste of space?

Yoda: I have no idea. PCC-Lua thing, I think.
Feb 28, 2009 MSKanaka link
I didn't try either of them, but I'd guess they're making use of a change made to the SendChat() function so that they send to the appropriate channels without actually changing your "active" channel.
Feb 28, 2009 incarnate link
But, like yoda says, doing /channel already did that.
Feb 28, 2009 maq link
But doing "/1(space)" changes your channel to 1 and lets you type there.
Doing "/help stuff" sends "stuff" to 1 but leaves you on whatever channel you are.
So instead of "/1 stuff /100 other stuff", you just do "/help stuff", in other words it's only faster if you don't count coming back to previous channel.
So it's not the same, and i do like the latter functionality.

Don't like the warp sound.
Tho i only hear jump out one, not jump in, and turboing indeed makes jump out either not play or be too quiet to hear.

Jump sound volume depends on the distance from the camera - the faster you travel the further the jump point forms from the camera, and the quieter the sound gets.

Ah, that does make more sense Mick, specially for the help channel, /nation is defo longer than /11 (what you wannt say) /100 thou.

if you do a /rp <msg> it will put that text to the rp channel and NOT change your current channel. IF you do /300 <msg> it will do the same thing but change the active channel to 300.

/rp <msg> goes to channel 300
/nation <msg> goes to 11
/help <msg> goes to 1
/pcc <msg> goes to the pcc channel

Does help out greatly with out having the active chat channel changed with every line you type in. Say I am in group/guild chat, I can do /help <reply to msg> then /pcc <ask a question> or /nation <something nation related here> One of the advantages of NOT changing the active cat channel is the channel colors on the display. Plus I am hoping it will help with moving things to other channels and not all on 100.

With this addition we can easily help people on the help channel, the nation channel, the active channel and others in the pcc.

nice update. Only one thing seems others have been saying the same thing, bone roids ruin fps and cause lag, any chance the bone roids could be removed from M-7 and replaced with fake roids or something?
Feb 28, 2009 roguelazer link
Hm, I've never had a problem with bone roids, even on integrated graphics...

When we aren't able to have tri-good standing, how will we be able to do all 120 prospecting missions?

I think they are a fundamental part of game play for some equipment.
Feb 28, 2009 maq link
You will likely be able to be at least neutral with both serco and itani.
So, I see no problems with prospecting.
Mar 01, 2009 MSKanaka link
maq: not if you are UIT. If you're Itani or Serco you will be SOL.
