This is a posting for all players to sign. This is like a petition for the lowering of the thrusts of these vessles. I myself think it should be raised to 260 or somethin near, unlike the current 220 which only seperates it from a regular cent by +5 thrust.

The Orion and Itani cents do have other advantages over the other ones, like the two small ports.
I dont think they need an improvement. They get 2 small ports, improved armor, and to top it off they are much more manueverable. These ships dont need anymore. These variants are the biggest upgrades as far as variants go (I'm pretty sure of this not 100% though).
So why should this ship become even harder to deal with? These 2 ships have eough power to them and dont really need any more.

You want to lower it to 260 from 220 0_o
I'd rahter that the valk get an extra +20 or 30 thrust - it's only got 210, less than the cent, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

/me dittos Starfisher. Valks need to at the very least have the same thrust as Cents, preferably 10-20 more.
Albeit this thread isnt about the Valk I still agree with the fact that the Valk should be a reasonable improvement over the Cent. Currently it just conserves more energy and has an extra weapon slot and has a bit more armor but has less thrust.
But the Cents were meant to be low end ships (considering the minimal requirements to get the Cent IBG or the Rev C) so why should they be better than the Valk let alone be improved beyond what they are now.

I think the Cent's thrust is about right now. They don't flicker around my screen so much (due to network lag). Don't forget that not everyone has a 50ms ping. The Cents are nicely on the borderline for a good game at 250ms ping.
I think that Valk, Hogs, Hornets, Proms (maybe), should all be made heavier with higher thrust so people don't get insanely light fast ships when equipped with a single N3 and also have an incentive to use all their weapon ports. Changing the overall vs weapons weight ratio could make it a far more interesting game as people will opt to use all the ports on their ships.

I wouldn't mind seeing the valks actually having much higher weight with much higher thrust to compensate. That way actually USING the valks 3 weapons ports wouldn't cripple you if you used anything heavier than N3's. Valks should start at 4000kg and have thrust in the 300's.
Leave the Rev C and IBG the way they are. They are fine as is.
As for the Valk, I do not believe that the valk should in any way be faster or have more thurst power then the cent. It's a bigger ship and should no be able to out perform a smaller ship. It's advantage lies in it's ability to equip (3) small weapons instead of just (2) for the Rev C and IBG and (1) for the standard Cent's.
If anything the Prom should be nerfed a bit more, to equal the capabilities of the valk, since they are both "special" ships.

I would like to see the valk getting the characteristics of a hornet. But with 1 less weaponport and therefore a bit more agile.
since the ibg already has the position as top dog in fastness. And well having 2 ships like that is just foolish... Even the serco have a heavy ship and a light one (prom + vult guardian). Wouldn't be that hard to let the valk be a medium/heavy fighter and the ibg being the dogfightertype.

Urck! Not the way the Hornet is right now, I hope not! And even if the Hornet gets improved (which it should), I still think the Valk should be a bit better.
but everyone wants to make the valk into a light fighter with all the benefits of a medium/heavy ship, which it is not. I actually like Renegades suggestion of making it more like the Hornet, pre or post fix.
IMO the Prom and Valk should be the two best combat ships in the game. They are the nation special ships for the two nations that are engaged in war. And they require a Combat license of 8 or 9.
Currently, the Prom is one of the best ships in the game, which I think is good. But the Valk isn't. It isn't as bad as some people make it out to be, but the IBG & Rev C Cents are better, at a fraction of the combat license requirement. IMO that's not right. The only advantage the Valkyrie has over the Cents is armer, and that doesn't make up for it being a bigger target, having lower cruise speed, and lower thrust. Its third S port should be an advantage, but because of its low thrust, if you actually load 3 weapons, you kill your manauverablity even more, and so I don't consider its 3rd S port to be an advantage.

Agreed. The IBG is a far superior craft to the Valk. But I wouldn't solve the problem that way . . . I'd introduce a Serco-exclusive ship that matches the Valk and an Itani heavy ship that matches the Prom.
That's exactly what I would do too Blacksabre. Makes the most sense, and is better IMO then tweaking the ships stats YET AGAIN.
And unfortunately the UIT gets pirated by both sides and has a special ship that is for the msot part, unused.
I would like to see more ships that resemble the factions beliefs. I would expect the Serco to use mostly Big strong ships and have a limited number of faster ships and the Itani would have only the few commmon ships that are available and have a focus on the mobile ships. The UIT would focus on cargo ships for the most part but with the cap ship the war will pick up and UIT also has pirates to deal with all to often.
Also with the addition of the Behemoth the UIT Marauder isnt of much use. Perhaps the all the factions could get a new exclusive ship (actually exclusive to faction only personell).

beolach, it will be a bit better.
but the idea behind is that you can finally use those 3 weaponports but the ship is in agility below the 2 dogfighters and even a bit beneath the vulture. But better then the warthog and the marauder and the hornet.
this way its armor will be justifiable, its weaponports are justifiable and it will not be uber and have a hell of a lot easier to take down a prom but being somewhat even with the vulture guardian.
anyway anybody tried to outfit a marauder with a couple sunflares and take on a prom? How does it fare?
PS: also add the synergy thingy I posted somewhere else so that you can somewhat more easilly balance different loadouts with each other in stead of just going for the empty loadout because it makes the ship practically uber or with 1 n3 because using the others is to heavy...
cheers

I don't want the valk to outperfom the cents, I want it to be just a tad worse manueverability-wise that the cents when it has three weapons. Its whole purpose is to be the special light ship, not the laughable disappointment at the top of the Itani combat ladder. If you could actually use that 3rd l-port it would make sense as a ship - right now it's a cent with more armor, less thrust and twice or three times the headon surface area... making it worse than the cent in several ways without making it much better.
that's why the valk needs force sheilds, but we all know thats not happening soon.
I'll tell you what would make the valk more battle worthy...
Spin Torque.. Given the valks shape,it should be able to rotate very quickly, and currently, one of it's big problems is it's sluggishness in turning, especially when loaded down with heavier weaponry, like gauss cannons. Valks should feel more like gun platforms against cents. sure the cents can fly circles around a valk, but as long as the valk can counteract by using good spin torque to actually USE it's 3 small ports, I think it would be a balanced, more interesting fight. A valk pilot would have to use his/her aiming skill and heavy firepower to counter act the maneuverability of a centurion. Currently the valk can't spin fast enough to do that. usually we have to straffe to aim with a valk, but that doesn't help much when a cent is vastly superior in that area.
