So I searched. And found no thread talking about a life subscription. IS there life subscriptions available and if so how much.
And if NOT- May I suggest a life sub for 1000$? :D

$1000 is only worth 8 years. Quite a few of our vets have paid way more than that to date. I think it should be at least $5000 for a life subscription.

I would expect a discount if I'm dropping a grand. We get discounts for bulk purchases at every other scale.

A monthly subscription in EvE online is called an "Omega Clone State" while an f2p account is called an "Alpha Clone State". This makes for a significant difference as "Joining Omega" sounds way better than "buying a subscription".

Actually, $1000 buys you 12 years with $40 to spare if you use the 24-month bulk discounts. Of course, instead of spending $1000 in one go for game time that you won't use for over a decade, it makes more sense to just spend $160 for 24 months and invest the other $840 until you need it. If you can get 10% annual growth, you'll have about $1016 by the time you need to renew your sub. Note that after playing VO for two years, you now have more money than you started with....

No VO is not Eve, but that doesn't change how naming a product differently can help attract more people to it.

As for Life Subs, I have usually seen these given to a very limited number of people while the game is in testing or if it's just been introduced to the market.

Life sub adds a sense of security for storage rentals, capships, and guild positions.
Personally I think 1000$ for a life sub is a good deal. Its a major discount- and I would imagine that half of those who even buy the 1000$ sub (which probably should have some premium benefits, such as infinite LTS and All liveries available) Wash out before year 10.

I personally do not think lifetime subscriptions are a good idea for 2 reasons: the time value of money as Pizzasgood elucidated and, in a somewhat related manner, businesses change so much over the years I would find the "lifetime" value somewhat dubious.

This is written of course from my own subjective consumer's perspective. Guild Software is going to do whatever they feel is best over the long run.

Why not, but make it 5000 USD. And include a special vult skin.
