Capital ships are large, but why does that mean they are slow? They have giant reactors, and player built ones have two engines. Make the player built trident have a max speed of 100, and turbo speed of 225 with a turbo energy drain of 400/s .
What this means is if you wish to have the ability to jump quickly with a fast charge, you give up your ability to turbo. That is the trade off.

Well you see, fast charge only has 250 energy so this wouldn't work since this suggestion be 400/s drain, this would only work with the dent cell which would drain a lot of energy and taking account you just being heavy...you wouldn't get far...I don't see the point though but I get the gist of what your saying.
-1, dents are fine as is.

-1 because of drain, i love FC! also makes no sense with THC
So with the Trident Cell I can only turbo 10s...?

Basic physics. The greater the mass, the greater force needed to accelerate, maintain velocity (yes, there is friction even in outer space), and change directions.
Looks like someone didn't pay attention in school! Bad boy!

tripod, you are not making sense.
Sieger, I am suggesting increasing the ships non turbo top speed as well. So it will go faster. The turbo is on top of that, will help the dent get up to speed faster.
Joyless, you didn't pay attention in school. In school we learn this is a game. And physics be damned. Otherwise, why do we slow down in VO space? Bad boy.
But if the drain really bothers you all. Then how about this: Turbo drain on the ship at 150 m/s. So the ship can turbo indefinitely if it has the dent cell. If your big arse ship is not rocking a dent cell, no turbo for you.

+1 since they are bigger engines that were built for the bigger ships, but, don't you all forget, this is fluid space, which makes it more fun.

Dents don't NEED to go fast, they are fine as is. in terms of speed.

Bahahahahahahaha. You actually think that there will be VO without basic physics. This is a very realistic game. Saying physics be damned is like saying damn the whole concept of ships.
Why do we slow down in Vo space?
Why does a rocket slow down in space? 'Cause they CUT OFF ENGINE OR THEY STOP IT.
Tripod, you are not making sense.
He is. An FC has 250 capacity. 400 Drain is not possible, NO TURBO. If you suggested that, then please ignore it.
And, the bigger engines are used to handle the bigger ships. If we had these engines on smaller ships, we will go REALLY FAST and vice versa.

I rang your high school science teacher to see how he feels about this, and he said that he's very disappointed in you!
Uh oh, better stop killing kittens!

Maybe not as fast as the OP suggestion, but +1 to faster dents.
hey catman, how do you feel about Weallfloat killing a kitten?

Llllllol where are the side thrusters to move the ship to the left/right? Or up and down? Or backwards?

These are gravitic engines that maneuver the ship by opening directional gravity wells for the ship to "fall" into.
PWNed!!!! LOCK THREAD!!!! WHISTLER CLOSING SHOP!!!!
Then why do the engineers bother adding thrusters to go forward?
Nice trolling, idd. You impress me.
why do the engineers bother adding thrusters to go forward?
'cause the engineers are not cool. :P

Turbo. Or maybe those aren't thrusters at all, just exhaust ports.
This has been discussed to death, but they are just exhaust ports. Obviously creating these gravity wells takes a lot of energy and energy = heat, so it has to go somewhere. They are not thrusters you see; just the cooling system ditching the heat into what is the biggest heatsink in the verse.
SPACE.
But yeah, -1
There has been better threads about this, and making cap ships require a cap ship class cell is the one i'd go with. They do not need to go faster with one, they should just need one to work at all.
