So i've asked around ingame and lots of people (mainly the ones that play since some time) are faced with the 50k cu limit on stations. Its quite easy to hit it and a pain if you want to keep stuff in stock. You'll end up hauling lots of stuff to a closeby station and then hauling it back later.
There are some stations wich are bigger (the trident dock stations) but those are rare. Can we have an increase in the limit for all stations?
I face this issue mainly with manu stations, good mining/hive-hunting locations and especially latos n2.

Making it 100k or 150k would be reasonable.

More trident stations please!!

Actually there is a sound logic in some stations being very big, others being middle sized and some being very small.
Not all stations are capitol and not all of them serve the same role.
However... the one thing that is lacking, at least in my opinion, are serco/itani military outposts in greyspace. Very small 'reconnoissance and special ops stations'.
They could be hidden on the regular map but known to nation military personnel (some small nation specific mission to take some important data pad to a military outpost). Military outposts could offer only nation military 'reconnoissance' ships and equipment (SVGs & IBGs perhaps?) no trade items but they could also offer some new nation specific military missions.

+1, as the game gets bigger us industrialists get more ambitious

The CS should be expanded to trident dockable stations before every station gets a cu buff, by expanding station holds your limiting the amount of available opportunity of theft by promoting stockpiling instead of import and export as demand increases.

actually its the opposite. currently we cant hold a huge amount of goodies because we have to be sane with station cargo. we'll have to move it anyway so after all we'd move stuff more often around because traders have a bigger supply.

And yes, it would increase traffic of stockpilers and what not.

Big +1.
I'll agree that stations need a CU boost.
I'll also agree that stations need variety.
And I'll agree that Conquerable stations should be Capitol stations, as they receive as much, if not more traffic than the national capitols.
So, make Capitol stations (including conquerables) 200,00cu
Make commercial stations 100,000.
Make Mining stations 75,000
Leave Barracks stations at 50,000.

I don't have any problem with bumping cargo limits on Capitol stations, and we do intend to make capship-docking possible at all Capitol-class stations (as I mentioned in an earlier thread).
But, there are some other ramifications of this I may need to review. Some people's inventories are already getting sufficiently crazy, that we may actually need to optimize how data is accessed by the SDs that create the "galaxy", from a database standpoint. I'm sure there are lots of opportunities for optimization in what we have, but it's still a bit more dev-time than just changing the single number that currently controls station-storage limits. It's also infrastructural, so we have to be more careful, obviously, to avoid screwing up anyone's inventories.
I also support the notion of different classes of station having different limitations.
But, at any rate, I have been expecting this discussion for some time.. it's a natural outcropping of the expansion of capship utilization, a movement into a different type of economy, an expanded universe, and a greater variety (and scale) of large ships in which trading and resource-movement are possible.
So, it's been on my radar for awhile, but there's still some work to do.

More space should also come with a much higher rental price.....
@Incarnate: most of the high cu demands is based on having lots of cargo, ie like 10'000 of each ore/SSS and alike. as those are the same item ids, the situation wouldnt get worse if we just have higher amount or is there something else that i miss about it? AFAIK you have item ids and once you merge them, one of them disappears while the amount is increased.
@PaKettle: of course, its already that way. the more you want to stash, the more you have to pay.

Both of these may be a no-no to give out, but could you throw some technical stuff at us to chew on?
kinda off-topic: Is player data in a compressed state when not in use?
On-topic: how is player storage data currently accessed, that might hinder someone who moves high volumes of items frequently?
