Example: An NPC decides to shoot you inside a station's NFZ. The [current] station gaurd doesn't care about it. However, when you attack an NPC in the NFZ, the station gaurd DOES care.
This is just wrong. NPCs should be included in NFZ rules. There's no reason why they should not be excluded from the rules that [almost] everyone has to follow.

Actually no one has to follow them.
Not the point here. The fact is the stations ignore NPCs that defy the NFZ rules. Heck, Im not sure if I should stick this

Yes it is, no they don't... and neither.
The only NPCs that ignore the NFZ restrictions and that consequently Station Guards ignore... are the Serco and Itani Xith voys. So, really it's a question (RP) of what is more valid to the faction? Your death... or the fat military contract?

I am uit KOS. A UIT voy will shoot at me in da NFZ of a XX station fer example and the guards will look elsewhere (kinda fun when ye get here damaged and rushin' to da dockin' bay and some WTD jumps ye)
So NFZ rules do not apply to NPC is the correct answer: Sorry Ryan.

So... what you're saying is that you are UIT Kill on Sight, and when UIT NPCs see you... they try to kill you?!
/horrified gasp of horror!
Oh the humanity... the idiotic, moronic, knuckle dragging, mouth breathing humanity! This massive bug and injustice must be dealt with post haste!

A giant duh!
You can be kos with any faction and say your hanging out at one that likes ya.. the ones that dislikes you will always shoot at you, no matter what.
That isn't a broken faction deal, even in the nfz.

Edit: Eh, this post was meaner than I'd intended, so I deleted it. Just imagine something snarky about ryan being willfully blind in its place.

With blatant disregard to the local laws and a blind eye turned by the local law enforcement. Seems kind of wrong to me...
+1 Fix the NFZ for NPCs. This almost qualifies for bug status. :P

If they do apply the NFZ to NPCs, they will need to modify convoy AI to hold turret-fire while inside the NFZ, under all conditions. Otherwise it would be much too easy to exploit - I could just aggro a behemoth inside the NFZ, let its turret tag me, then fly away while the SF kills it for me. Heck, I could do it with a totally free EC homed nearby, and just let them kill me afterward so they can focus all their attention on the moth. I'd have to die anyway to reset my own temp-kos so I could return to scoop the loot.
The escort NPCs could be allowed to intentionally violate the NFZ in defense of their convoy (and suffer the consequences), but the behemoths absolutely should not.

+1 pizza
NPCs (like voys) should be subject to the NFZ and its consequences. If that means a swarm of hostile moths doesn't try to gat me out of space right outside the station anymore, I'd say it's a step in the right direction.
@Ryan i was just statin' a fact cos ye were wrong sayin' this:

I dont care 'bout voy shootin' i anywhere, i am used to it.

Dude, the NFZ was made to protect innocents, not people who are KOS with that station's faction.
Besides, that means if a strike force attacks you in the NFZ they'll have to send another strike force after it. While that would be hilarious, it wouldn't be very fun.

While the law might look the other way when a local hero shoots a scumbag down in the street is in fact realistic at times it should not be the general case
NPCs as a rule should not fire in the NFZ plus an extra 500 to ensure they they do not fire at ships still in the NFZ
exceptions:
Corvus - A bribe system might be fun plus the gaurds are likely to ignore bad behaviour from good customers.....
Itani/Serco Military bases - Always open season on the enemy irregardless of standing or location
Gaurd reaction based on damage/danger to persons in area. for example if a general is present then the SF would respond fast and deadly but if nothing then thier response might be slow and weak.
Other faction based responses might also be appropriate...

First, that's not true. NFZ means just that - don't shoot anyone inside the NFZ or you get blown up by the SF. Simple. That includes any NPCs other than guards, marshals, and SF. Perhaphs there should be an exception for CTC voy bots, too.
Second, this isn't a problem just at same faction stations. If I'm KOS UIT and there's a UIT voy docking at a Corvus station, the voy can shoot me inside the NFZ without triggering KOS or getting attacked by the SF. I can't shoot back or I get tKOSed and the SF comes after me.
It is, simply put, pure bullshit.

The problem only occurs when there is a glitch in the AI. If you are KOS and you are in a NFZ, the convoy bots probably shouldnt shoot at you, that should be only performed by the strike force, but that isn't THAT game breaking. The main problem is after a tempKOS has subsided, sometimes the strikeforce stick around and they have the same targeting data which causes them to shoot you even though you are not tempKOS
It's a bug, more than a suggestion for a new feature.

That's an entirely independent topic which already has its own thread over in the bugs forum.

I see reading comprehension isn't among your scant talents. Why would a Corvus station's guards or SF shoot at me when I'm +1000 Corvus? Even though I'm -1000 UIT, why should those Corvus NPCs put up with a UIT convoy's ships shooting at me inside the Corvus NFZ?

+1 to make NFZ a NO-FIRE Zone, including NPCs.
Only exceptions for local NFZ enforcers - guards, marshal, SF. All other bots should hold fire, even if being pursued, and SF would engage normally.
Makes no sense that Visitors can shoot at Locals and the Local guards ignore it just because they're all NPCs... the faction rules should apply outside NFZ.
If we would be rational about it, the whole station sector should become a sort of NFZ, no combat allowed... but that's another topic.
