All three need a buff. I propose:
Extreme Drain Power Cell:
Proposed/Current
Grid: 6/5
Cap: 500/550
Charge: 52/48
All other stats remain the same.
At present, I do not believe this powercell is worth doing the Axia mission tree required for this. It needs some incentive to own.
Ultra Charge Power Cell:
Proposed/Current
Cap: 350/300
Charge: 52/50
All other stats remain the same.
The UC batt requires Mentor Level 3, 40 mentor points, to own. This is an extremely difficult achievement, and needs a better reward.
Valent A-3 Assault bots will attack their owners if the owners bump an asteroid or cause any damage to themselves. This needs to be fixed.

A better buff for the UC battery would be to decrease the mentor point requirement heavily, considering the problems with the mentor system.
Aye, that would help, but the UC itself would still be little better than an FC.
I don't think UCs should be a complete replacement for FCs. As-is, UCs are better for fighting but worse for travelling (more energy = longer bursts but longer charge-up times before jumps).
The Valent Assault pet only lasts for four hours. I believe it should return to Verasi C-4, Kannik Hold for some amount of time (an hour?) before using it again after this period of time. After doing the entire mission tree and manufacturing the bot, losing the bot after four hours is ridiculous.

What about Extreme drains.. Instead of buffing, I propose:
- Remove limit from total batts you can get (completed missions). Atm you can't have more than 10. This is ridiculous.

"UCs are too hard to get therefore those rare few who have easy access to them should enjoy a greater advantage because gameplay balance is overrated" Grr.
+1 to Pirren, forgot that.
Slime, FastCharge almost completely replace Heavy. Heavy completely replace Medium. Medium completely replace Light... etc, etc. Also, I believe anyone that works hard enough for mentor 3 should get an edge.

Works hard enough for mentor 3? Not a single person in the history of the game has ever earned Mentor 3. Trial account abuse, it's the only way its ever been done. Period.
With that being said:

And what the hell is the Extreme Drain useful for anyway?

JE has his mentor 3 fairly... or at least he says so.
Nothing, Waffles, which is why it needs a buff.

False, the Heavy has many advantages over the Fast Charge. Every top tier power cells (meaning every one other than the Light, Medium, and Free Power Cells) should have their own specialized advantages or balances, but none of them should be complete replacements.

Hey, I never said 'fairly' - it was easier when there was no level restriction on who you could mentor. I just said no trial account abuse.
+1 to Shank. The current balance between Heavy, Fast and Ultra seems sensible. Heavy have specific applications and Ultra give a slight benefit to pvp, but not enough to make average pilots awesome or make the black market value ridiculous.
Reducing the mentoring requirement (or fixing the mentoring system) would however make sense at some point in the future.
In the meantime... I sell UCs to anyone! However, price may vary depending on moral fibre :-)

ShankTank, I agree with you after some thought, and I don't see a way to make the UC worse than the FC, in some balancing respect, other than the factors of mass and grid. Decreasing grid to 16 and using the above stats may work. Do you have any thoughts?
Extreme Drain proposed stats I agree with, selfishly.
Ultra Charge: I can't comment on this as my experience with these cells is limited and I don't have the 40 mentor points.
Pets: You can actually "recall" your pet(s) at any time up to four hours and get credit for another pet without having to do the manufacturing mission again. The reason I included the four hour time limit was partly as an homage to Blade Runner.
The reason all pets die at once is mentioned in the mission tree.

Ah, then the only issue I see with them is attacking their owners, due to the game mechanics. When you hit an asteroid or station, you cause the damage to yourself, which is also why you are said to have issues when you ram a station or asteroid and die. So, when you hit something, you cause yourself damage and the bot attacks you. This is the heart of the problem... and it needs some sort of fix.
This "Self-Enemy" bug is already reported in PCC. Specifically, in Rent-a-Escort type missions or rent-a-cappie.
This is dumb!
Indeed, all damage resulting from ramming/crashing into anything should have no consequences... will add a topic for that.
And for UCs, I vote for reducing requirements. I see that Mentor1 should be enough, but that cell should not be possible to equip on other's ships, those without Mentor1 badge.
Back on Cell subject, why not make Heavy Cells have Grid 24?

Alloh, are you saying hitting something shouldn't damage you?
If heavy cells had 24 grid, they'd be able to support weapons that you aren't supposed to support on any cell: Three gauss3s, three ineubis ravens, four HE beams, a Corvus Widowmaker and another weapon, etc. I think 20 should remain the max, and instead reduce the grid for the UC and add the above stats.

Not. I'm saying that hitting anything should not make an enemy of it. That includes capships, stations, roids, other ships, etc... Damage remains the same.
(Includes ramming kill becoming a clean kill, probably even inside NFZs).

You either don't understand the concept of just how easily that sort of thing could be exploited, or are deliberately trying to introduce an exploit and are hoping that we won't notice.
Rather than such a ham-fisted 'fix' that would cause more problems than it would solve, the sane thing to do would be to introduce a subroutine into the IFF system the does some sanity-checking so that you can't be flagged as an enemy of yourself.
Of course, given your history of suggestions, Alloh, I doubt that something that logical and sensible could ever occur to you on your own.
