The recent improvements to the WTD have made it a credible combat ship - perhaps the equal of the Corvult, SVG or RevC. Still, for the UIT's top combat ship, it really can't measure up to Skyproms and high-end Valks. Maybe it shouldn't quite be the equal of the combat ships of the more militaristic nations, but it should be nipping at their heels, and it's not quite there yet.
I'm proposing a slight combat speed boost - to 70m/s. It's not a huge change, but I think it might be just enough to give the WTD a chance against the other top combat ships.

and it s fine for me uit are no warriors
fine for me2. Compare it with SVG or IBG, not with SCP and X-1. Maud is true UIT ship, if you didn't ever use it: UIT Marauder is poorman's valk with great cargo hold (up to 60(!)) and with different weapon loadout with 2L and 1S max weap ports, compared with Taur in firepower.
So, zak.wilson.epic.fail. -1.

imo a hog should never compare to a prom or valk, they should boost the raptor up to those standards.
I'd like to see a proper high-end Raptor. It's pretty. This thread is not about Raptors.
I'd prefer a boost to comprise lower turbo drain rather than higher combat speed, as the UIT have a need to chase down those who disrupt trade. However, this buff seems reasonable.
This, and take the turbo energy back to 57 e/s.

the wtd is the uit version of the ibg and svg. all is as it should now be. move along nothing to see here.

Leave it the hell alone. The new WTD is exactly right.

Affirmative. Technically, the Marauder is UIT's 'specialty' ship, while the WTD is more akin to the IBG or SVG. It can't dogfight like those two can, but the fact it has a L-port means it can bring something new to the table.
For my part, I'm happy that its even threatening at all now (was an overly-expensive joke before). Any perceived 'deficiencies' in the design can be attributed to military budget cuts. =^p

While I'm sympathetic to wanting the WTD to be able to compete with Serco's and Itani's top-tier ships, I still haven't finished digesting the new stats. I don't feel comfortable advocating more changes yet.
One thing I don't want to see happen, though, is for there to be more powerful combat ships that run to repair with near impunity whenever things aren't going their way. And, anyway, I imagine that as far as trade and protecting traders goes, simply getting those who harass their charges to flee is a victory and the faster you can kill or drive off those plundering your traders the better.

New WTD is fine, I am boasting a very nice PvP KD of 50/12 with the new WTD thank you very much
I would like to add that I normally suck.

Agreed, but I don't think the WTD has enough turbo thrust to really get away with impunity. But moreover... isn't that what rails are for? :D

70m/s would probably help with that a bit. But your point is well taken nevertheless.

I'm with maal on this, we don't need more "high end" ships that just make pvp turn into a "hit and run" brawl.
I frequently cite the fact that it's too easy to disengage from a dogfight and run away as one of VO's more serious flaws. That said, it's turbo acceleration and, to a lesser degree, drain that really matter for that. Corvults, despite their 75m/s combat speed stand a good chance of being destroyed if they try to run. I just want to improve the WTD a bit more in a dogfight.
For sure. I also consider bumping the combat speed up to 70 m/s to be a combat buff not a running/chasing buff. I was just talking about changing its turbo drain there. I should have said that.
I think I agree with you that the WTD should be changed a bit more. But I'm not sure..

No, leave it as it is. In the right hands, it's very deadly.
It is, indeed, very deadly in the right hands, but no more so than a Corvult or RevC (this based on their use by Strat, Atice and Maalik). It remains significantly less deadly than the X1/IDF/Vengeance. I want it to become only slightly less deadly than those.

Serco have heavily armoured ships (Prom), Itani have fast light ships (Valk), while UIT have trade ships (Maud,etc)...
It's almost perfect now. If wanna mess with one ship, remove the C from Craptor on another post.
