Could there be an easier way to man the turrets in cap ships? I mean, its hard and confusing to find the turret you want, one that gives you the angle your looking for.
There should be something like a ship overlay or something showing marking the turrets locations.

Thank you i agree :)
Amen.
I wish there was something that indicated which turrets were tracking a target already, so we could jump to those. It would be nice if you could jump directly from turret to turret.

Not that this is exactly the best example, but in UT2k4 there were places you could walk up to and hit the action key to man a turret. Sometimes you could use the scrollwheel to cycle through the turrets available. Something like that would be cool for turrets in VO, but there's the issue of the scrollwheel probably already being bound, so that can't be used by default without confusing people a bunch.
I would definitely like the overlay of the ship where you can click/double-click on a turret to select it. A tooltip could show who was currently in it, and possibly what the turret (or player) was targeting.

so... miharu... are you actually making a suggestion to "walk inside cappies"?
No, just that using the scrollwheel or some equivalent would "scroll" the player through the available turrets on the ship.
it'd be sooooo cool if we could have a toggle to automatically move from turret to turret as your current target strafes across the ship..
be really nice if you coulb bind it to a pov hat or something so if you push it left you move to the next turret to the left up you move one turret up etc etc
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what if there was a picture of the cappy you were in with buttons where the turrets are and you just press them so you know exactly where your going
that's a little more involved. cool, but lengthy to code given the turret position will change given the ship you're in.
besides, it might take a lot of room to lay out on screen.

Could the lua be modified to let players script their own macros for that sort of thing?
Or it could be a rotateable(Not rotating!) 3D model with clickable turret positions(think the ship preview screen).
Scuba; That could be brought up from a hotkey, and have a full tactical display (in wireframe) of ships nearby in a 5000...
Yeah, awesomeness. I think the devs already play some kind of tactical display for capship navigation. Bastardizing it shouldn't be too hard.

aye scuba, thats exactly what i was thinking on how it should be. Though i would be happy with a picture of the cap ship like mr bean suggested.
I am ShankTank and I approve of this suggestion. Vote yes on this post.
I've suggested this before. Multiple times, even. I still support the idea, though.
...
Scuba you bastard! I say that in #vendetta and then you say it here!

For my defense, I was not in #vendetta at the time officer.
it would be better if the devs did this rather than the players making those weird bind thingies. Not all of us who play this game are learned in scripting and computer stuff like that....
On that subject, i think the devs or someone should also make a guide/manual about that. I got no fregging idea how to make bind script, but it looks like almost everyone else knows. Thats an advantage i would very much like to be able to use.
