We should be able to put something like a signature thats always there under our posts. Lots of forums have them, why not making VO forum more personalized.
Like being able to put a picture, a phrase, word, thingy, anything.

On the other hand, I'd be in favor of the option, if only so that such garbage would stay in the signature area. Then the option to display others' signatures could be toggled, and hopefully default to Off.

This would work great for the RP forum, and make the characters and posts seem more alive. But I don't see why it'd be needed for general/suggestions or any of the other forums.

As it is the Devs are struggling to bring the game to the point where adding content is feasible. To ask that in addition they work on adding pointless features to the site is [STUPID].

If you really think "lots of others forums/people/whatever have them/do it" is a valid reason for doing anything, then may I point out lots of people jump off buildings, Shadoen. By all means, go do it!

If we're going to add that we might aswell make a whole new forum with everything in it.

Jex, if you had a brain, you would see that this is the "Suggestions" forum. I guess that the devs made this forum so people could post their ideas for new features. Relevant or irrelevant to gameplay. People can post any suggestion they want, even though they know that they might never see them introduced. Its not only for suggestions that will surely be applied.

My actual reason for this idea is not because others have it, it was to make the forum more personalized and attractive. In a way, this is pretty much like the current ship coloring feature. Its totally irrelevant to gameplay (except for the whiners who claim black/white colors give unfair advantage), yet it gives us an option to make our ships more personalized.
Now, if you take a quick glance at the other suggestions, you will find that there are other far more useless and irrelevant than this one.
So, Jexkerome, by all means, do learn the actual point of the suggestions forums.

Honestly, I'd rather the Devs work on the game than on the forums.

Avatars, along with shiny ship decals, Forum personalisation and a fool-proof search function are not exactly high on the list of priorites, I think. Once the game has progressed to a point where the devs do not have to work like half-crazed mulas, I'm sure they'll take care of such things. The fact is, that time will not be today, and not tomorrow.

There is one thing that VO might very well teach those who do not have it: Patience.

Really, Shadoen, just throw yourself off a building already! we can do without the weak ideas and the lame "responses".

This isn't a necessary feature for the forum. If the devs absolutely must work on something forum-related, it should be something a little less annoying than signatures and/or avatar support.

Now, Im not asking or demanding for this to be high priority, I know the devs are working their ass off for far more important content. This was just a suggestion that i think would make the forums better, later on, not now of course.

Shadoen, at least one of the devs has indicated that he does NOT want signatures on the forums (quoted from linked post): "What I don't want are signatures, which is why we don't have support for them."

Or, if you want to go for something even more spectacularly obvious, why not try the Forum Suggestions thread I was hinting at in that one hilarious thread with the guides!
