It's called an ultra charge batt, not a ultra capacity batt, so it makes sense that it would *charge* more than any other battery, but it does not. I really don't think increasing the charge rate to 52 would make this battery uber, but it would make it useful, right now, people just think it is.
It give no advantage for chasing, it gives no real advantage in a fight, a few extra shots is nothing if ye cant aim! Ok, so at 52 charge it would also not uberize this battery, but it would at least make its name make sense ;)

its already good as it is now. It does give advantage when chasing and fighting. For ships that consume faster, they would be able to chase for longer periods before having to recharge.
Also in a fight, its not just a few extra shots, its double the shots you get from a FC cell. And if you aim, then dont fight.

It is not double the shots of an FC, it is 50 more energy reserve, or 20% more than an FC, with the same recharge rate. The UC battery is a disadvantage when chasing, because you have to wait up to an extra second to initiate a WH jump. As far as don't aim if you're going to fight? hope that was a typo...

Well, if we follow the logic that the UC shouldn't be at a disadvantage in travel and chasing when up against the FC, then the UC should have a 60/s charge rate (enough for its 300 power cap to charge in the same 5 seconds as the FC's 250 cap). While I think that may be a bit much of a beef (a 20% increase in combat efficiency), I do agree that its rate of charge should be increased some to compensate... maybe find a happy medium around 52-53 charge.

@52 recharge, a valk would be able to travel 22,500m on a single charge. It should not have both greater capacity, and greater recharge than a fc. If your going to increase the recharge, then cut the capacity in half. then it will jump wormholes in a heart beat.

nah, im happy with the fast charge on my valk, at the moment its possible to fly forever at <> 200Ms in a valk, and push up-to 225ms when needed. Just thought a Ultra charge should like, Ultra charge, or something.

I agree with yoda on the fact that the Ultra Charge Power Cell should be tweaked. As it is now, it is not interesting enough to be of any real use. I also agree with Cunjo's post, although I have an alteration to propose: Lower the UCPC capacity to 275 eu and increase the output to 54 eu/s, that way, it still takes more time to charge to full than it would when using a FCPC, but one would have more energy at one's disposal, and a faster recharge rate.
I am fine with the Valkyrie being able to run as fast and as long as that, after all, it is supposed to be the overall fastest single-seater craft in the game's universe.
I still think the Mentor System is pretty much broken, though.

i think this is a great idea and should be incorporated in the test server imediately but
im pretty shure this was slime's idea but can we have a trading FC with 50 recharge rate and 200 capacity available at 0/0/0/3/1
and a combat fc 3/4/4/0/0 with 250 and 50 recharge rate the difference is small but there should be different FC variants like a MKI and a MKII and the ultra charge can be called the fast charge MKIII

54 eu/s makes the TPG Raptor an infiniboost ship.
Anything that will charge fully in a time shorter than five seconds will become the de facto standard racing battery, like spidey's 200/50 "trading battery". With such a battery I'll bring the DR record below 26 minutes in an heartbeat...
