This is kind of silly, but I think it would help the social aspect of the game if we could purchase drinks for ourselves and our fellow pilots in the bars.

movie clips,hot dancing girls,serving wench`s,sports on tv.

side missions,player offered missions,player offered assassinations,thefts of cargo,hijacking special deliverys for opposing nations,the list is endless and can be mainly fuelled by the players.

of course it wouldnt really take off until theres a few hundred playing at a time.

Yeah, the whole idea of bars is that there would be interesting NPCs waiting there with potential missions or tidbits of information.

Races, past recorded nation wars (live would be too tough), drinks, and I'm going to go out on a limb here: a good place to trade illegal and rare substances. You could trade them with a fellow pilot, or get ripped off by the bartender's friend who's there every night it seems like.

The illegal items don't have to have real world counter-parts, they could be a type of radioactive metal that all/some the gov's deemed illegal because of its harmful half-life etc. (i don't really want to be able to buy crack for example, nor do i think it would be good for the game)

Certains gems and rare metals could be added to various loot lists and roids, that would make for great trading activities, and negotiating activities, auctions even.

And what about female pilots entertainment? Chippendales?

Dancing girls? Wonderful idea! Thanks for including it on your list incarnate! I am not sure how easy it would be for you to animate 3D females dancing though, perhaps it really would be easier to visit a strip club and film the dancers, putting it on loop in the bar... Or maybe just embed YouTube player, that would shut everyone up.

As for illegal substances, I liked the way you could trade narcotics and slaves in Elite. Of course we already have various alcohols and Corvus (pirate?) Disks. You could also add human organs, but that is probably already covered by medical supplies.
