Vendetta Wiki has officially, and successfully, been transfered over to...
http://www.vo-wiki.com/wiki/

This of course means that editing is open, again! Feel free to go around and update all the pages that need to be updated, fix bad spelling and grammar, and create new (useful) pages! The rotating image on the main page now has 7 new images. There is now a "What can I do" page, hopefully to phase out some of the stuff from the editors page and make it more public and easier to see. This page is much easier to see, being at the top of the main page instead of the bottom, like the editors page is. Also, accounts and passwords still exist, so there is no need to recreate your account.
Again, I am sorry about the hectic month with the wiki and everything. Backups will be taken fairly often, so if anything happens, a new site should hopefully pop up within a short amount of time.

Happy editing!

Question, how much bandwidth per month does the new site allow? If it has enough bandwidth, and the powers-that-be OK it, I'd like to create a section for user-submitted screenshots.

Also, good job w/ the "What can I do" page. I'm going to try to obsolete everything you put on there as fast as I can. ;-)

The how much bandwidth question is one for Tyrdium. Personally I think a user-submitted screenshot page would be fine, but I'd like to wait until we find out the bandwidth limit.

Right now, my plan allows for 30 gigs a month, so that means about 20-25 per month for the wiki. However, I can easily upgrade to a plan with 100 gigs per month if I need to. I'll probably start reselling some capacity within a month, so that'll cover any additional fees for the better plan.

Edit: Yah, I don't think it'll even hit 20 gigs for a while. So far, it's used about 22 megs.

Currently the wiki is in a redirect loop and I am unsure as how to fix it, again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah, I saw that lemming. Here's the error that I get, I think it is an internal application error from FireFox because it shows up as a system dialog box:

Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.

I'm on a Mac using FireFox, obviously.

Lemming,

I'm guessing that this has to do with the fact that you're trying to redirect all accesses from http://www.vo-wiki.com/* to http://www.vo-wiki.com/wiki/, but the URL http://www.vo-wiki.com/wiki/ still matches http://www.vo-wiki.com/*. Just a guess based on the wiki thread in Comunity Projects. Can you just remove the redirection for now?

still in perma loop from last night.

Yup, working on the problem. I'm about to try something else...

Edit: Nope, didn't work. Gimme a bit, I'll contact the support team.

I contacted them awhile ago. Also, it wasn't the redirect / -> /wiki/ because I have another project that works fine.

:-/

Did you get a response?
May 02, 2005 Suicidal Lemming link
Indeed, yesterday I got a response saying it was fixed and no longer produced an error on their end, unfortunately it is not working now and I responded back saying so.

Hmmm. Lemming, check your email.
May 02, 2005 Suicidal Lemming link
Tyrdium, did so. It boiled down to something that needs more time.

Anywho, to distract you people with another shiny object, I bring to you:
http://www.vo-wiki.com/images/

It's pretty self explanatory. Look at the images, take some of your own, signup and activate your account, and upload some images. Currently the upload limit per user is 2MB. As always...
- Upload spiffy stuff!
- Don't upload non-vendetta related stuff.
- Use constructive criticism in comments if you do comment, being rude will result in your comments being deleted and you possibly being temporarily banned from it, depending on my mood and what you did! ;)
- The prettier the image the better.
- The more unique the image the better.

I'm not sure if the fixing of the wiki will cause disruptions with this, but don't be terribly surprised if it does.

Ooo, nice. I assume you took the easy route and installed it with Fantastico? :-)
May 03, 2005 Suicidal Lemming link
Hey, I was looking for a reason to use it!

Okay, the wiki now works. Thank you to those who figured out a workaround, and thank you to me for figuring out how to turn the workaround into the right way.
So, head on over to:

Sweet. What was the problem?
May 05, 2005 Suicidal Lemming link
Before, the links were:
http://www.vo-wiki.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Which stoped working so I had to be changed to do:
