There's a great song in the Kill Bill Vol. 1 soundtrack titled "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)."
No no no.
I don't want to know your name.
All I want, BANG BANG BANG.
I don't want to be your friend.
All I want, BANG BANG BANG.

yeah... trouble is, kill bill sucked that bad that you can't really post about it without losing your honour :D
No it didn't. You just have no taste in good movies. Blegh.
=b
Nah, but seriously... to each their own. It just has a dark sense of humor to it that not everyone gets (or cares for).

i guess it IS a matter of taste. not that i care about the blood being spilt. it's just made up entirely out of clichés. if Tarantino wants to mock the east-asian film industry, fine. but he should use other things than a sledgehammer.
I don't think the movie was made to mock the east-asian film industry at all. Well maybe some parts, I'm not too sure. Anyway that's not what I had in mind when I saw the film. I don't think many others did either. I loved it for its action sequences, humor, and unique filming techniques. It had some humor, but it's not like it was made to be a comedy exclusively. And yeah sure, Japanese swords are used in the film and some of the settings are in Japan, but there are other parts to the movie that have nothing to do with Japan. If you want to see a director poke fun at the east-asian film industry, you may want to see Kung Pow as an example instead.
hm.
i disagree. almost entirely.
even the title suggests otherwise (being like most asian movies, you see a sun-like picture, with writing in kanji).
a lot of the setup is reminiscent of chinese and japanese films, including anime (and no, i'm not talking about the animated part).
and i don't have a problem with him portraying the east-asian film industry in a satirical way (which he does).
the problem is that the movie lacks depth.

I guess we should move the thread to "off-topic", then... :P
I say we move it to the archives.
Whoa. Lemming. You're being very hostile. Go plant a tree.

Yes I know I'm being hostile, no I can't stop.
Damn communist trees.
Damn communist trees.
Rawr.
Edit: aww didn't work
New text: Trees are capitalists, not communists.
New text: Trees are capitalists, not communists.
No, that would be false... seeing as money does not grow on trees, yet the fruits of labor do! Well... at least on my planet fruit doesn't qualify as legal tender.
Come to think of it, I thought rodents like trees. And as an added note: Bang bang.
