First of all thankyou to Miharu and Katrina (and CDC, SSC and TGFT) for the excellent, weekly, Deneb Run.

I bring you now the first Deneb Run Championship Season.

The Championship will run from D.R. 101 --> D.R. 150 (inclusive).
The Championship is a meta-competition based on the Deneb Run. Although the Championship is not being managed by the Deneb Run MC's, it is based entirely on the official Deneb Run & it's results.
Points are awarded as follows:
10pts . 1st position
6.pts . 2nd position
4.pts . 3rd position
1.pts . non-podium finish (aka consolation point for finishing)
Double points may be awarded for particularly special / unique DR races run by DR MCs (as DR-100 was); in which case this will be announced in advance. For example the Season Finale, DR150, should qualify for double points.
Only official Deneb Runs are counted; and the official results as published on VO forum stands (or, failing that, the official results as broadcast by the official race MC in ingame chat). I will track and manage the league table, I will also adjudicate in case of any ambiguity or uncertainty. My decision (as pertains to the Championship) is final (the no-bitching clause).
The Championship, as of now, started with countback of results back to Deneb Run 101. Anyone who races in Deneb Run qualifies, no entrance is necessary. Please note however that I will only track your individual alts, therefore do not expect me to add points positions from 2 (or more) separate alts even if you later claim they are all "you".
A prize will be awarded the winner: the Championship cup, and Prize money. I hereby endow the Prize fund with $10M. A big Thankyou to SSC (Hortan) for $17M and ITG (Cranston Gorky) for $5M, bringing total prize money to $32M.
I would be grateful for any other sponsors to join.

As for any questions over Foo Fighter's racing competition activity and perceived conflicts: Foo Fighter is competing solely in his capacity as an Amateur and NOT as a professional, so :
IF in the unlikely event that Foo Fighter wins the Championship:
THEN No prize payout will be disbursed to Foo Fighter; however the Cup would still be awarded.
The initial $10M endowment would be paid to the 2nd highest ranked racer. Any additional Sponsor monies would either be similarly disbursed; or returned to Sponsors; or disbursed to Miharu (and Kat)* for ordinary single-race Deneb Race sponsorship (at the Sponsor's discretion).

Well, Championships have been won before by the Racer who was most consistent in finishing on the podium :-)

This may be the last we see of Kat flying an EC-89. And to think that she was going to try the Moth XC! Of course, I think moths, and now the EC ships, must get great jumps because she was way closer to the WHs every time in that doggone bus of hers over my Orion.

Well, it will take a year. (with hindsight I should have just set it at 12 races .... but at least it will be interesting for VO regulars)

I think that the retirement of my Millennium Kitten couldn't have come in a worse moment. It's parked in a dusty corner of M14, still with Tharkus scars on the left rudder wing. I should shop for a successor...

In your original proposal, you said from DR100, not DR101. That's a low blow: with DR100 counted, I'd have 20 more points, and incidentally be on top of the partial standings.
But, oh well, I wanted to add spice to the runs with unusual ship placements. You want to add spice with a combined results championship. I'll think about the part I will have in the history of championship. Hoping to be FAR ahead by the time my subscription expires...

Hey it was always the intention, even in the first post, to go from 101. I'm not sure exactly where your understanding of the DR100 came from (if so, my apologies for any misunderstanding). I hope DR150 will be a "Special event" like DR100 was, if so, DR150 will count for double.

If you choose to compete in the fastest ships, you will rise quickly to the top of the leaderboard, as the season is very long. Or, you may choose to continue to set records in the GovBus or other special ship setups. Either way, you have my respect.

Speaking of MCing issues, when school starts, I may have to shift the "early slot" an hour back to 6PM eastern because I'm eating dinner at 5PM at school (if I don't get there at 5PM on the dot, the line is waaaay too long).

Hey Foo, if you could edit your first post to list the current standings as well, it would be cool. That way I don't have to scroll ALL the way down to the bottom, and this thread is going to get really long. sigh... takes so long.... must find standings.... It might also make the thread a little more organized. Thanks.

Okay those results are now official I double-checked them. If you have 1 or 2 points for low-placed finishes, I didn't include you yet. There is always a chance I make a mistake so, if you think your score is not correct in the future, please let me know (and substantiate your reasons), and I will double check (and correct if necessary).
