Hello, I've been asking around locally on channel 11, and have discovered that some are interested in a Serco-only, ctcing/capship/pirating/etc... orginization. If you have any interests or questions about the guild, please either post them here or PM me. (/msg "A-Dawg") for more information this potential prospect. We are hoping to attract new (players past the free trial) and commited regulars alike. Hopefully this will re-unite the fractured Serco nation and give us a common goal and become a force to be reckoned with again.
Let us re-energize the Serco Nation!

Wow, this hasn't been tried before...

Plus if you use that, I won't have to take the "The SAF is a seemingly unstopable force" part out of the IA constitution, which I've been puting off for what must have been a couple months now.

Isn't unstoppable spelled with two p's? You put a spelling error in a constitution?!
LOL CP LOL
This is one Serco who might be interested. Yarrr!!!
Haha CP! Your the man.
And if your SAF or what ever needs another gun, I'm available at professional rates. Let me know.

LOOPHOLES IN THE CONSTITUTION?! I CLAIM THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS! DAMN IT! I AM AN INDEPENDENT MILITIA!
tee hee hee...
Sorry, A-Dawg, I'd be interested, but I'm a bit tired of organized guilds ATM. As fun as it was, the SAF was just too much work when it was around.

Yeah, I mean the reason why BLAK has stayed together so well is mostly I think because there really isn't much that people are obligated to do (like with SAF and CTC).
Seeing as there aren't really many benefits to being in a guild other than chatting with friends (and the occasional infamy), this is a good thing.

Lofty goal...although it certainly wouldn't hurt to see the Serco organize a bit. It's always interesting to look at the CtC list towards the end of the week and see how many Itani participated and how few Serco did. When Serco does win CtC, it seems to be due to the concentrated efforts of just a few people....take a look at last weeks CtC list for example.
I think Shapenaji is right, if you "require" people to perform you'll likely not keep a guild together, On the other hand, if you assemble players that already like and partcipate in activities like CtC you'll be much further ahead.

actually, Beamrider, that's how the SAF started.
A bunch of us noticed that we were frequently grouping together to participate in CtC, so we decided to form a guild so that it would be easier to coordinate our efforts. But after a while, it felt less like a bunch of us getting together to have fun, and more like "we're winning, we have to keep winning!" Which got tiring after what, a month-long winning streak?

CP, then thats where SAF made their error and it ceased to be fun. Is it necessary to win CtC every week?
I've seen too many guilds fall apart when a single goal is pushed. But a guild should have some sense of purpose, and work towards that purpose as a team. Maybe something more free form with occasional goals that gives members more flexibility...
(Just as an example, and without a great deal of thought :D)
Week 1) Free time, build your character and increase credit reserve.
Week 2) Win CtC
Week 3) Free time, emphasis on member practice and training.
Week 4) Free time, emphasis on cap ship protection.
Under such a schedule, a member has plenty of time to enjoy the game itself (that is why we are here isn't it?) but also has specified goals that furthers the guild and faction. And nothing says such a schedule has to be set in stone...."Hey guys, Serco won CtC in Week 1, how does everyone feel about hassling BLAK in Week 2?" (Bad example, I know :D)
Just my random thoughts.....and done way to early. I should finish my first cup of coffee before trying to use brain cells...

Hassling BLAK can stunt your growth. :P
At the times of SAF, there was not much to do save CtC as regular ingame competition. Now things are more diverse.
IDF has succeeded in staying committed as a whole to CtC for quite a while and now to cap ships wars as well. I don't think any of us feels this is an obligation. Those competitions are just much more fun when you are with guildmates.
So there is no reason why a Serco-only guild could not do it. I wish success to A-Dawg's initiative.

one of the biggest problems the SAF had was the fact that a good 50% of our core (about half of the vets) suddenly found that we were temporarily (and in a few cases more or less permanantly) unable to play vendetta at the same time due to this really irritating thing called life.
Anyway I wish you luck with your endeavor Dawg.
Smittens, You really need to alter your constitution, both for spelling and that SAF thing. :)
Tho its good to know we were considered enough of a danger to you that we were included in your constitution. :P

I can contribute one or two chars just to get it going.
Yea, I'm with spellcast... I'm really happy that we were considered a serious enough danger to have been put in the IA's constitution.
Kepler wrote the IA preamble, not me.
Thanks for the replies, I've learned lots about how a guild is formed and hopefully enough info to keep the guild together. Anyone even vaguely interested in joining please contact me in game or post it here. Thanks.
Well BLAK, it looks like you've lost your oppurtunity to recruit me. A-Dawg, you can count me in on this one! When will we do it? Depending on how many people post here, could it be this or next weekend? I've been looking for something like this for a while, to show that I'm Serco at heart. Do you accept blue people? Please? :) And yes, we should only include devoted pilots. No one should join this just to be in a guild.
