Wha'ts the news about 3.5.4 ? I have seen that chat system was redesigned and animation of insystem warop has been changed (there is no blue star around anymore, and it seem faster now)
we'll get a list of the changes up sometime during the weekend probably. we are all too tired to do it right now.
Great work on the release guys!
Other than the few new bugs, the game in general seems much more polished.
New chat system, new animation, storms... all very cool.
Cheers!
now get some sleep ;)

Very tired right now. Yes, I'll made a newspost later this weekend. Umm.. FYI, for anyone having problems without the default binds, you can delete (or rename/move) the wgaf.cfg in your Vendetta directory, and Vendetta will re-download the new defaults next time you run it. You can then copy in any specific binds from your old config if you want. It's also possible to "Reset to defaults" in the input config menu, but I believe this will nuke any custom binds.
The operative commands for the new Channelized chat are /join and /leave. Switching tabs in the HUD is Shift-1 and Shift-2 by default (again, if you nuked your wgaf.cfg).
Enjoy!

Great work, guys! I know you were tired last night 'cause I stayed up too...and I'm an hour ahead of you!! :-)
Some problems but nothing that can't be worked out easily (hopefully).
God, I love this place!!!
[edit] I'll be gone for the weekend...will resume my duties Sun evening. [/edit]

I got the HUD tabs to work with:
alias t0 "activatechattab 0"
alias t1 "activatechattab 1"
bind F5 t0
bind F6 t1
Must try the shift+1, shift+2 also, but things like that
can go wrong with non US keyboards, lets test...

Has already been usurped by 3.5.4? That was quick.

Few things...
The warp jump animation's particle effects are off. They're below my ship rather than directly behind it, giving the impression that everytime I jump my pilot's urine is jettisoned.
I have my general chat key bound to "y". Yet when I use it says it's sector chat. Looking through the keyboard settings I noticed there's also a chat key for sector chat. Why are they both sector? I believe general chat should default to "/say_channel" instead.
The storm thing is annoying. It happens way too frequently. If it was placed there to prevent people from jumping across system to system with ease, I don't think it's a good solution. Having your energy capacity determine your distance, or some other logical method, would be much better.
And again, please consider using the activate key to jump from sector to sector, rather than requiring the player to go back to the navigation menu to jump.
Other than that I think it's a great update. I love the new chat system and the accelerated warping.

Yes, 3.5.4 is the patch for the patch, released after 2AM, as is our custom. 3.5.3 had a double-free() bug which really messed stuff up at random, but only if you used a /command in the HUD's chat window (instead of the console). Plus I forgot to CVS-commit my removal of a check which assumed there were only 3 factions when there are 13, so it complained about the new defense bots for Corvus ("Kraz"), etc.
We know the warp jump animation particle effects are off. We were too tired to synchronize them correctly (it involves getting quantized versions of vectors in a portion of code that's never had to touch that before). Although what better place is there to jettison urine than hyperspace?
Some of the chat stuff still needs to be cleaned up, obviously. We removed the 3000m "local chat" thing in favor of sector-wide chat.
The storms may be too frequent. It's something that we have to tune. It isn't there to limit your jump range, it's there to provide opportunities for combat (with pirate bots or pirate players or whatever) on an otherwise boring trip. Obviously if you encounter nobody in the process it's just doubly boring.
And I agree with you about the activate key. We discussed it some time ago. It'd be even better if you could plot out a long-range course once with the nav panel and then just follow your nav points.

YES!!!, please!
YES!!!, please!
ya know what would really be neat is if there was a channel that broadcast ion storm warnings. :) Similar to how the FAA and NOAA work together to broadcast warnings to pilots. And/or even more, have at times, an icon on the navmap showing where the storms are.
Hmm...
I like PvP. But I don't have gauss yet and the only place that sells tachyons is Corvus. Fast charge batteries and vultures are also on that side of the universe. Basically the only ship I can make in the sectors near the border is a med batt screamer hog with a phased on the nose... which can't compete with gauss/screamer/heavy...
Bleh :/ Half an hour of flying just to to get a tach vulture to the battle and I get gaussed to death in seconds. Them's the breaks, I guess... but bleh. It's going to be hard to get into PvP.
I don't even know what I'm trying to say.

I guess you guys haven't gotten around to actually implementing the guild stuff yet, but I'm just making sure the Guild tab in the station isn't supposed to do anything. If it is, can you tell us?
