Another battle successfully fought, and this time BLUE WON!
Of course half the people that signed up on the forums didn't show again, but random pilots in game fixed that. The noteworthy accomplishment this time is that we have a video capture of the battle! It came in at a whopping 3gigs at full resolution: Our experts are standing by to reduce that to downloadable (and hostable) levels. Check back here for details!

"Expert"? Hell, What program do you use to reduce resolution? Also, what can i use to split the Music off?
/stopmusic
And how in tarnation did you get a 3gig picture. That's a lot of pixels.

Uncompressed .AVI was the only way to record it without having heavier lag. Also /stopmusic won't work AFTER the video cap HAS been done.
To remove the MUSIC (not sound) after the recording has been done? Not possible. There's one track of sound.
Sound... my mistake sound... I want to know if its too big otherwise.
what program are you using to edit/capture the video? Usually there is an option to edit sound/change the resolution..
I'm still amazed that I survived parts of this battle more-or-less intact ;) (at least until that darn newbie caught up with my lag)
He is using a recording program that only records. It is not a video editing suite.
Use QuickTime to export the video to a 320x240 or so mpeg4 or divx file. PLy round with the compression settings to get the best result.

Free program that can resize. Might take a while to process though.

Got it, anyone mind DiVX codec?
Impossible double post.
As to the divx codec, np.

45.2 mb, 600x400, and i realized i didn't do a sound capD: So where can i send this?
Hmm do you have AIM or an IRC client? I only use cheap/free email clients atm, so emailing it isn't an option...

It is on its way to StarFisher, he'll do final editing.
I'll host it when i get back tomorrow (around 7PM GMT)
I hope it's worth the wait :P

Looks ok, the compression makes it hard to make out the fight when the ships are against a black backdrop. Still, there's some good images of the thick of the firefight (and an excellent capture of my manly destruction of a centurion).
Also, upon careful review of the tape, Phoenix may have come close to issuing on the camera.
Should we do another video, I think the camera should stay out of the thick of things. The best shots are when the camera is maybe 400m above the main part of the fight, and while swooping through the battle looks sort of cool I think it interfered with a few flare shots.

Yeah, have it watch from a distance, it'll look really cool with all the lasers and explosions going on. And hey, that was my centurion you destroyed. :)
