The wiki http://www.vo-wiki.com/wiki/Hive_Queen suggests that you can take down a queen's shields with a rag equipped with Mega-posi's, HX's and large power cell. I tried this repeatedly last night from the front, the side and and behind many times over from point blank to 400m out and I never got close. Probably the most I got was 50-60% shield damage before the power cell ran out and the shield regenerated.
Is this method even possible ?
I'm wondering whether replacing the HX's with Gemini's, stacking those and then hitting with the mega-posi's as the missiles land might be a better option.

Tried the same thing when I started queening. Unless you can get a lucky shot where the queen is turboing towards you, it's generally not possible. If I remember correctly the wiki is outdated, as it is with many things. Swarms and gems are much more effective.
using energy against shields is the worst idea in the history of Vendetta Online because shields were buffed
Queens are intended to require more than one person to kill. Missile stacking just happens to be a skilled maneuver that removes this necessity for deshielding a queen. Now if only static queens would actually attack non-capships that damage them, it would be more interesting.
As cam said, the shields got buffed so the old methods won't work. You could always go the easier way and use a chaos and gemini rag...
Chainfired charge cannons on a hornet will deshield a queen with a heavy or ihdpc cell
Interesting Wash, so by chainfired you mean all 4 fully charged and discharged at once ?
no, chainfire means firing each of the four charged cannons sequentially as fast as the game will allow. There's probably a plugin that helps on voupr, but it essentially entails putting a single small port in a separate weapons group and switching groups really fast as you hold the fire button.
Since charged cannons don't have a delay (wiki is incorrect) they are particularly suited for this.

Someone move this to suggestion thread.
what for? It was just a question, not a suggestion.
Some L mines dropped where the queen turns around can help a single pilot with energy to deshield a queen.
I haven't heard the Hornet method before thanks -Wash-

In the past I have used hx/mp/hcell rag to deshield queens. I would follow behind 1000m+ until they turned into me, and then I would unload. It might take several tries, but with all energy another try is a few seconds recharge away. I have not tried recently.
For the charged cannon hornet, I would try a bind or plugin, to first: charge each cannon one at a time, and then when your are in position, fire them all at once and toggle them as fast as the game will allow. While the charged cannon may not have a max fire rate, I believe the game may only register triggers activate/deactivate as fast as the frame rate, so you may have to adjust the toggle rate based on your frame rate.
Normally I just use a rag with at least one MP or N2, or two HX, and any combination of missiles. I commonly use three hx and two stingrays. chaos are easier to stack, but are heavy and make the rag sluggish.
I would imagine that two players with rev2, two hx and a stingray each, and good coordination, could deshield a queen.
At some point even low level characters with hx, piled on in sufficient numbers, will do the trick.

I've managed to bring a queens sheild down to 37% solo with just enegy guns.
Set up if anyoned cared
Twin Mp, triple AAPB. Heavy cell. On a queen coming towards me
My main solo'er now is a what i call le tanka mk2.
Rag, heavy cell, twin swarms but i only fire a full silo and a half, triple autochained charged cannons.
Mk3 had neuts but eh

Rag with 3 gems 1 chaos and a megaposi if you need heavy weapons licence
Two energy rags can deshield a queen quickly. It's not solo, but it's something lower-level players can do.
I think it was MPosis and Neuts, or MPosis and AAPBs.

Yall do know a hornet with gemni stacked correctly can do solo? And you'll still have enough time to get a new ship, they seems to have a buffer when i did it on a low lvl alt.
Rev with stringreys and two charged cannons can do it, tricky af tho. Stringreys actually hitting is the hard part.

+1 static queens attack players >:D
Ah the old 4 gem hornet trick. I remember trying it and failing my stacks like 20 times in a row when I was new, but I just KNEW it could work! Really tough, you have to stack it tight. But it is good for f2p players or just pilots that can't get a rag (or are highly masochistic)
Can you really solo with a rev? That's nuts!

"Rev with stringreys and two charged cannons can do it"
Pics or it never happened. If you have never done it yourself, it is hearsay.

I haven't used a rev with sting rays BUT i have (with a partner) deshielded and killed a queen with two 2 sp ECs, heavy cells, and plasma HX. No stingrays needed. I have done this on multiple occasions. So I imagine adding stingrays would make it much easier(keeping in mind that a chainsaw rag with 2 sting rays will deshield a static queen just fine. The Rev II that Roda mentions adds another Hx/charged cannon to the equation.). The point of killing queens with this (EC) set up, is that it doesn't cost f2p/lite players any crystal.
Keep in mind, that not all queens are created equal. Some have a low shield recharge of 8000 or so, others have over 27000 that you have to overcome.
Though I do doubt that a single pilot with a Rev armed with stingrays and charged cannons is going to do it. Here is why: Let's say the shield strength of the queen you are going after is 60k. The max damage you are going to inflict with a single stingray launcher is 39200 leaving the charged cannons needing to finish off the last 20800. Pretty tall order.
I personally like pissing the escorts off and getting them to deshield and kill the queen for me. If you are going to use this method, i suggest a maneuverable ship. The Rev C/IBG, Corvult, or Valkyrie would all be good choices.
