VO 1.8.457 includes:
- Fixed issues causing the game to freeze on the Oculus Rift and in Simulated VR Mode.
- Fixed bug causing classic DirectInput flight-sticks to be improperly recognized and configured as gamepads on Windows.
- DirectInput flight-stick buttons are now named by button number, instead of by gamepad-style concepts.
- Chord button combinations will no longer be bound by default for DirectInput joysticks. This should not impact most gamepads, which use Xinput instead of DirectInput.
- Added a new default control layout for the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick.
Hopefully some more joystick and other improvements coming soon, as we continue to clean up the PC version in advance of a Steam launch. Enjoy!

Are you adding further content for the upcoming Steam launch?
Yes, there should be quite a few changes.
The Terradon - Wash edition: 4 cap cannons, two devalons, no turrets, nicad battery and hemi engine
how about cleaning up the UX before launching to Steam.
I think it needs a twin turbo with that hemi, wash.

And replacing the hit boop sound with something less cutsey.
And giving blasters a less cartoony shot sound.

Will the steam release be marketed? I hope so....
Perhaps these could be in Suggestions
At some point this kind of stuff converges to "Everything would be better, if only you made everything better!".
But, yes, we're trying to do lots of things.. including improving aspects of the game, and marketing the launch.

I seem to remember a series of posts about low hanging fruit, the notion being that "a lot more things would be better, if only you made a few small changes".
And then there was the 'fizzer' power drain mechanic, that could have so easily made it into more than one weapon design, since it's the perfect opportunity for 'side-grading'.
The real question is why aren't you absuing more graduate labour like everyone else?!?!

Luxen, I'm aware of the deboop plugin, but we're talking about a steam release where the game is going to be compared to high budget titles like Star Citizen and Eve. The little things that impact first impressions are going to make or break the launch so I think it's worth noting that the shot sounds could use some attention to make them more modern and realistic.
That's cool and all, but this game is decades into development and the steam launch has been "in the works" for years. You've acted like it's around the corner for years. I was one of the players that would be the first to stand up for GS and say "They're working on it, give it time", but there's really no excuse, at least not an adequate one you've given us. I've seen the crappiest of Candy Crush type games with 1 developer on steam. So yah, everything could be better, if you made it better. But you haven't. The core members of this community have abandoned ship. And that's literally one of the only redeeming factors of this game is the in game guilds and personalities that bring it to life. Now it's just barren. Release on Steam or throw in the towel.
The guy above me is spot on.

That had more to do with self induced drama that spiraled out of control than "lack of updates." Don't you remember what happened a few years back? You were around.
Also, some players got older, got married, and have more important priorities than playing a damn space game. If they weren't so busy with real life, they'd probably be back. I can think of a few players who are like that... they got married, had kids, then somehow found their way back into VO after a bad divorce.
In a case or two, VO addiction was probably one of main causes for their wives leaving them. You can bet those players are STILL around much to their chagrin. Sorry, I'm not naming names since Whistler is parading around with his wicked, thunderous mute hammer.

A release on steam wouldnt be too bad as long as there is a clear message that nothing is final nor set in stone and is regularly being updated, people love seeing games like this, especially space titles. I wouldnt go as far to say "you can make the game better" that takes time and money and you dont realise that every decision inc and ray make effect their business and livelihoods so I cant blame them for wanting to stay in the same waters instead of risking throwing it all away if steam does not work out.
Guess who has fourteen years of experience running an online game? Hint: it's not jordanmorgan14f. So you'll have to understand if I trust Incarnate's judgment over that of some bumpkin who thinks the cart goes in front of the horse.
Pizza the horse died and the cart has no wheels.
With a giant grain of salt, Vendetta's best Steam strategy would seem to be a Freemium model similar to what is currently running on mobile. This would require some radical changes and I have no idea if it's what the devs have in mind.
