Hey guys. 3.3.3 is a mixed bag. The station in 9 looks awesome, and holds great potential for future stations, especially in the home sectors.
So, how goes the progress with the bugs? I've reported several and offered screenshots and haven't heard back. How goes the dynamic economy? Howabout changes to the mass system, will the frigate be in the game any time soon?

Yeah, that's about 2/3 of what I was hoping for in this release. Although I do appreciate the station, and I understand the rewriting the backend problem, I just wish we could get the game balanced and the money bugs out for a reset.
Well, I'm not anxious about the next update, I desperately am hoping for bug fixes. With a top-of-the-line G5 I average no higher than 20 FPS. I get constant kernel panics and texture bugs.
Affirmative, crazydeb8r. Highly affirmative.

Well, Mr. Camps, I can offer no solution other than that you trade your G5 for my G4/400, which gets an average 40fps. That's a good deal, right?
Right?
Right?
Oh, 'sreal good. I'd take that any day. Yeah, if I was dead.
A top-of-the-line G5? I thought you had the 1.4 Ghz one.
Argh. Nvmd. I'm jealous anyhow. :P

There is no 1.4ghz g5 powermac, they range from 1.6 to dual 2.0
yeah, and I have the 1.8, which is pretty high up there :-D
I mean, I get 800 FPS in the dock, but then it drops 4000% to 20 FPS outside.

hehe. 4000% drop. That's cool.
I hope my (late) newspost is somewhat illuminating.
Incarnate: it was... :)
it was exciting!
I loved it!

oi, if it's supposed to keep me from sending more than four lines of text, then how come I can do my six-line smiley thing?

Because you're special.
yay!
Multiple stations now supported per sector.
MMMMM!
MMMMM!
New station still rocks. Only complant is that the docks are not spread out enough, but thats a minor complaint by one who gets nuked a lot ;)Be cool if the modular models (hehe that sounds funny) system was universal across the board - might help with cap ships. Also with cap ships, third person view might be acceptable - as they move slow. Homeworld2 scales the 3rd person view on the size of the ship. I think the devs should consider a user friendly map editor, as well as makeing the models and everything else easy to "plugin". There is a lot of money in engine sales. A second fps game be could created rather fast when the first rpg one is done, selling that sucker twice. Still, selling the engine out may be the way to go in the end. Space games need special engines... The textures dont seem to have enough depth, but they are good placeholders. Some good textures with bumpmaping can fix that latter.
Unrelated - vendetta can fire the imagination on the future of other games. In my minds eye I picture Gangland - vendetta sectors become hoods, and nations become gangs. avatar changes to a human, a persistant counterstrike world so to speak...

That would be cool. Use a first person perspective for fighters and bombers, but a third person perspective for capital ships. 'Cause it would seem sorta silly to be able to have that 360 vision for something so huge. It would also help a lot when you dock capital ships.
no it wouldn't. in fact, if i were to build a capital ship to fly in space, i would make it so that the (main) bridge is in the second most protected place the ship can offer (the first being for the power supply). and from the outside i would get images via cameras and sensors.
if these should fail, there could still be a "failsafe" bridge to use.
then again, building spcaships flown by humans is folly...

Well without a cockpit render for the capital ship, the control scheme would seem a little silly in first person perspective, if you had the current freedom of vision for the current ships. If you were maybe blinded to only having 180 degrees (emulated) of vision, that would make more sense. A third person perspective would be the simplest approach.
