Ever wonder what it's like to be the gank prom in a NW? Wonder no more!
P.S. this is a good example of the strategy I've been trying to describe re: proms in NW. We don't do it perfectly and we kind of fall apart in the end, but thanks to my group mates being responsive and alert, the beginning is a pretty solid defensive formation. The challenge is to keep it that solid throughout the whole fight, which is why I contend that Serco = Hard Mode and Itani = Easy Mode
And yes, you can see my alt in here for those who don't know it already =P

I get ganked in my IBG all the time at NW, and it only takes 1/3 the damage to make that little thing go boom. Also, the weapons I use on it actually have to be aimed.
How is that easy mode?
Nice video though. Wish i'd gotten home sooner to make this NW.

I say there's no easy mode because as a Serco you can take Xithricite Apothecarium which gives you access to Divinia Spices which allow you to pass Spice Run which lets you... never mind. Itani already have access to Divinia Spices, but they have to ask the Serco nicely for Betheshee Spices. It's all related, you see.
Nice vid by the way, I like the music.

@abort: Your IBG can turbo around all day long. This allows you to only engage when you choose to engage and quickly escape ganks. Unless you're trying to guard something, that gives you a HUGE advantage.
You don't get to choose anything about your engagement in a prom. You fight when the fight comes to you or you die. There is no running to buy time and you have to be constantly aware or you'll take shots up the ass (like I did in the video).

Cool video, interesting formation...
But the 4-way that is Nation War is too crazy for solid formations.
It would be great to see a sort of Nation's League, something as we have 2 fights on same day, random draw.
First roumd, fought in 2 sectors, Team AxB and CxD. Second round, after R&R, winners match winner(AxB) vs winner(CxD).
ABCD are NW teams, 3 nations+grays. Every week changes, either random or by team size or anything agreed upon.

At 0:21 you can see my little centurion go SPLAT on his windshield
People are always saying "there should be an event like....". Well, the event submission button is right there on the left of the website.

Good point Pizzagood.
I'm just surprised that the video shows you sitting still so much. Yeah, stay in groups, but stay mobile, or you are valk fodder. I notice the lack of Valks in this vid, so must be week 2, but seriously? Sitting still a good tactic? Maybe in a 4 v 1.

How on earth can you use that mouselook? >.<
There aren't nearly enough active prom jocks, honest to God promjocks, that can hold up to an equal number of decent valk pilots right now. If there were 4 seragyns, they would dominate NW every time.
Also: E r e b u s? I feel so fooled. :p

It helps if you're using a weapon that you don't need to aim.

I use mouselook for every weapon. Just a preference really.
The reason there aren't many prom jocks, is because most people (including those flying proms) are under the impression that you don't have to aim, manage energy consumption, effectively dodge, or have at least semblance of situational awareness to actually succeed in flying a prom against anyone worth their salt in ANY other ship. Thank for the compliment nahin, but to be fair, I used to be one of those silly masses until Erebus (a long time member of ONE at that point) slapped some sense into me.
Interesting vid, never seen a Prom from the pilot's seat.
Isn't the music from the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack?

Yep. A must have for any sci-fi/fantasy geek.
Please don't tempt me back. I'm getting sick of having to show people the power of the promjock every time this topic comes up.

Yawn.

Good video.
The Prom is solid, but you do have to push it hard into combat. The top end light pilots still have the edge over it.

Ghost's use of the word "gank-prom" reminds me of something that might have happened in High School.
you mean the geek prom where the jocks came uninvited and stole all the girls while were busy talking about vorpal swords?
