Speed won't save you from the raw FEAR you will feel; Inspired by the mighty Atlas baring down on you. Once you panic...its too late! The Atlas has won and you are no more.
Hoax
Hoax
Unless, of course, you're any other ship. :P
I want to kill players (NOT BOTS, i've had enough with that!), I have 2.6 mil c, What guns and ship should I use?
valk, prom, warthog, wraith, vulture... just don't buy a centaur or a hornet.
I can't buy a valk, can gold team buy valk's??? where do i get one!?!?!?!!! :(
You should use an Atlas with a charge canon and the Large port empty, unless you have no skill in which case you might put a Jack Hammer in the L port.
Yes, gold can get valks in sector 18 (secret sector), but if you are on gold, instead of going all that way, just get a vulture with medium engine and fast charge battery, 1 guass cannon, and 1 sunflare launcher. have guass as your primary weapon, and flare as your secondary.
me whimpers with hoax set up. Even I cant kill stuff in it :(.
Not that Im that good, but I do prefer a vult or a warthog or a prom :D. Better agility and better weapons.
And why would you have no skill if you used a jackhammer as second weapon hoax ? If you shoot it in a atlas and dont receive splash from it then you have skill also. Because aiming isnt that easy you know, it has a lot of luck in it. While charged cannon is just point and shoot
cheers

A word of warning: If you use a valk, chances are you'll be called a valk jock. And NEVER use rockets in a valk...
You need a large port weapon in your Atlas? I'm not against using the jackhammer because it's a rocket per say, it's just that the Atlas is so l33t with just the small port that it seems like overkill. Maybe in the next update they'll balance it.
Valks are fine and so are sunflares. How you use them is what can get you in trouble.
Also, I've discovered a *great* new use for hornets. Camping valk rocket rammers. Load up on flares. Stay out of trouble and watch from about 1km out from the base until they finish their rocket ramming thing on other people, and when you see them head for the base boooooost and fiiiiiire! (I call it the de-Valking hornet)
But Silent Frog, here is my serious recommendation: grab a heavy/heavy Warthog with an advanced gatling turret and a sunflare launcher.

I've been doing very well using a wrath against players. With 2 sunflares and 1 Swarm in the L port
1) It has more armor than a valk.
2) Mass swarms are somewhat difficult to continue to dodge even for most vets, I took out phoenix and a few other decent blue pilots with this set up the other night while they were in tri-sunflare valks.
3) The maneuverability is almost the same as a hornet when set with a heavy engine and fast charge battery.

the wraith sucks when alone and toe to toe with a *skilled* player.
a) it's turn rate is too low.
b) it can't outhull a prom (neither can it outrun a prom).
c) mass swarms are very easily dodged. you don't even need turbo.
why? firstly, the swarms move in a specific pattern. they only react. you can act.
action will win over reaction if executed well.
secondly, the lag generated by the swarms fired at you does help a little.
if the swarm's tracking unit had feelings and a voice, it'd probably cry out in frustration because of the targeted vessel jumping all over the place.
escaping swarms with med engine and the flag yesterday was nice. i won't tell you what i did, find it out by yourself :P

Granted the prom does out score a wrath, it is also not available in all sectors especially sec 7 where most battles seem to occur these days. As for dodging swarms, sure you can dodge them, but by dodging, you lose possible vectors to steer your ship making a sunflare attack more predictable.
you can't win em all... btw, when i have the flag, my objective is to steer clear of all trouble and let my teammates (with turbo) take care of the pesky defenders.
actually ive found the best ship for killing a prom is.. the wraith. same armorment options, it CAN outrun a prom, it CAN outmanuver one, only thing the prom really has on it is hull, which can be nullified. My main armorment for a wraith is either gunship or rockets.. gunship is gemini/flares gat, and depending on what im engaging, the rocket is flare with screamer(against valks, other fast ships) and jacks when im engaging close range.
unless you are fighting a red(which i rarely have to do, and then its normally on turret so im using a valk and just ramming up a storm(dual flare/tach unless fighting tri flares, in which case i use tri flare) or tri gauss) those prom losses hurt, having to purchase them in 18 and haul them in whereever they are fighting.

no, prom can outrun the wraith, wraith can outmaneuver because of the size difference (less to turn).
ok, so far, when ive raced a couple people in proms, ive outrun them(both using hvy engine)
edit: i meant engine, said batt

yeah well in acceleration alone proms are faster if equipped with same engine.
When you first begin to attack the mighty foe of human, start with the mediocre yet easily replaceable centurion.
I know, the other fighters are better in every single way, but when you first start, you go through a lot of ships.
