not bad but it sounds like you fell asleep on a synth.
and moved yer head around some

a) use soundcloud, noob
b) use an actual free ogg converter, not one that requires a trial. noob.

soundcloud looks like it could be cool but for the basic uploading/downloading mediafire works fine plus after watching their little introduction video it seems like they have a lot of gimicky stuff
I like it, pey. It creates the right atmosphere for a game like VO.
if i hit an ion storm and "vo test song 2" came on i may launch my macbook out the window.. but good stuff
I guess I'll throw my hat in:

These are kind of old. I have better if there is interest.

Needs more Blade Runner synth.
Most were pretty good, but the ones with all the crazy beeping were annoying. I have to agree with favrewebelieve though, :P
Whistler: 1st one sounds like something I'd zone out with when mining. Very relaxing.. Same with the second one. Good stuff.

Whistler: Good stuff all around.
peytros: vo test song is probably the best out of that bunch, it makes decent background music to a title screen involving technical/mechanical stuff.
"Practice makes perfect."

thanks guys, yeah the test part of the title is important to take note of :P but thank you for the feedback
+1 to whistler

Pey: Nice work, like test, 5 and 6 the best. Like the mechanical 'bottiness' of test, and the pan effect on 6. Not sure about 7. Want to hear more!
Whistler: Nice Ambience, I love going to sleep to that stuff, will definately put on iPod for bed, got more?
Anyone interested in some dynamic ambient music performed on instruments should check out the Siket Disk by Phish. Not their, or any bands usual fare. Re-engineered ambient jams that came out of a series of recording sessions. Best sleeping disk since Blade Runner.

Thanks! Yes, I have more. I uploaded another that's a bit more in the style of what Pey posted. I have a few more finished ones, and then some unfinished ones that are a bit more structured.
i've always thought my friend's band Godspeed You Black Emperor would be good to splice into VO somehow. they did the soundtrack to the first 28days later movie or whatever.. i think they just got back together... good luck getting them to do a game soundtrack though... har.. but it's sorta in the same ambience realm as this..
err.. oops.. didn't mean to hijack. i like both pey's and whistler's stuffs. with the programs you guys used, can you add samples and stuff into it, or.. like.. ummm... prerecorded guitar/bass/drum tracks and stuff?

You're friends with someone from "Godspeed You Black Emperor!"? That's awesome.
Space pirates obviously have cooler friends than space cops -- they're just more fun to be around. Though TBF has the additional coolness factor of living on a freakin' boat.
LOL
they're from Montreal, and i lived there for 6yrs.. the punk/hardcore community there is pretty tightly knit.. besides.. they're just d00dz..
has anyone got so far as to put these musix into the game somehow?

There are plenty of pre-recorded loops and riffs out there, but I always felt like those are cheating. I have lots of guitar / industrial samples and sounds - but I'm kind of saving them for some Serco-specific ideas I'm working on. I have a work in progress, but it's not as epic as it needs to be.
I could save these as .ogg files if anyone is interested, and then: /playmusic <full_path_file_name>
I can convert pey's too, though I don't want to host them.
Ogg/Vorbis (http://www.vorbis.com/) is the audio compression standard used by Vendetta. OV is similar to mp3, but superior in quality and has a more developer-friendly license. The "/playmusic", "/stopmusic", and "/playlist" console commands of Vendetta Online can be used to play Ogg files in-game. The playlist command will play an m3u list of Ogg files.
