Breazles old g5 superlight time is missing there too. I dunno if he cares, but I'm curious if everyones old times are going to be overwrittin in the overall times list.

Hm. Yeah. The times are accidentally being overwritten. I'm fixing that database query right now.

in december im 99% sure i won sedina b5 with something like 47.2

ah ok i miss understodd the 'current best' i thought it meant overall best. On that note can we have the overall best ever times in another table?

And yes i should currently have the December 2009 record in b5, not that i really care it just points to a bug i suppose?

The best ever times are under "Times Overall" in the track pages.

An odd thought.... best time for each ship type/class. It would diversify the racing more.....I would love to see how Mick would do racing a moth thru them tubes. 8}

I don't really see a use for per-ship times, since the best racing ships are available within 1 WH of the tracks, but meh

1 wh of tracks? Which ships would that be? Beyond Superlight which isn't easy to get either.
Tho, actually, VO already records best time for each ship, we'd just need to have that displayed on website.

I have no problem with displaying best by ship as well, although I'm not sure what the website layout should look like. Putting buttons at the top for "Best overall" (current page) and "Best by Ship" (new.. page(s)) is easy, but there are a whole lot of ship variants, which could get kind of messy and long. Plus, the stats pages are designed to be trivially outputted to static HTML periodically (improves scalability), so not real big on form submission stuff (like selecting a ship from a dropdown).

It's easy to make the ships on the current list clickable and go to best times on the tracks with that ship, but that'll be a tiny minority of ship selection. It's not like Behemoths will be on the Overall list very often (except many the first of each month, heh).

Just had a thought, maybe there could be categories instead (or in addition to) per ship times.
Specifically, at least one that'd exclude faction and other hard to get ships.
Might make it easier for people to get into racing if they don't have to bother with superlight missions or high itani standing to even stand a chance.

imo that's like saying traders shouldnt have to bother getting trade level 8 for a moth, or a pvp'er getting a vult or summin, if u want to start racing level for a race ship.

You'd still need better ships to get overall best times.
I'm just thinking maybe let people try to get something without needing to use extremely hard to get ships.
Also makes for more variety.

fair enough, but extremely hard to get ships in vo? getting valks is standard levels and about 2 hours of trading for faction and sl is about 1 hour of mission running and pay a trader a mil or so to get u a kit.
