You realize that by offering updates with no download, you deny several players the pleasure of being first to post the change log on this forum? As for myself, I enjoy seing that pleasure denied. Mwahahaha!

*Captain Sraer shoots Professor Chaos with the Plasma Annihilator until his ship is a red hot chunk of xith armor floating in space.

Actually Inc, its nice to see a useful heavy weapon at a low heavy license level at last, without newbs having to fly to Corvus. Active or not, I like the new low level heavy weapon.

It's nice to see a useful heavy weapon that doesn't require the Hive Queen Hunter badge too. The Megaposi is available at similar levels, but the requirement for the badge can make it somewhat unhelpful...

Yeah, that was the intent.. filling in the gaps in item availability. The lack of a level 2 heavy item has bothered me for a long time. Adding that was actually my main focus, for this, the Annihilator was kind of a last-minute addition.

I haven't had a chance to play with them yet, but they seem fairly well-balanced at a glance.

Content drops are always great.

Might as well drop their [Annihilators] grid usage down to one. They [Annihilators]aren't that great..
Aug 09, 2008 yodaofborg link
They aint great, but trust me, they are much better than any other heavy 2 gun. Infact, I may come back and make a *bored while botting 2* with the new simple lport guns.

They do exactly what they are supposed to do , fill a gap in the L weps progression . Tried them both on a hog 1 , they seem good for botting.

Part of the frustration for newbies in gaining Heavy skill is the lack of energy weapons at the lower levels. I'll probably be adding yet another one, for level 1. The lower level weapons don't have to be "great", they just have to be an introduction to using heavy weapons, and the tradeoffs thereof (like, say, the large mass but relatively large damage).

I'm not sure how great the Annihilator is or isn't, I didn't spend a lot of time on that one.

Well, I re-subbed, sorry about my pissy outburst guys.
Aug 09, 2008 Pointsman link
Yeah, sorry, the Eliminator makes much sense. But from my initial testing it seems like the Annihilator will have to be tweaked a tad.

Gauss relies on outmaneuvering your opponent. I don't know if you can do that with any ship that you would put an Annihilator on.

You don't mention it, but it seems some changes were made to the stations -- like moving some and making some bigger? Some of the stations in UIT space were separated from their holographic billboards.

That would have required more than a zero-download, zero-restart release.

We.. definitely didn't move or change any stations. Or intend to? If stuff is genuinely out of whack, let us know.
