So I finally got a reliable place to post this where it's easily accessible and has not suffered too badly in quality. The framerate is a little choppier than I would've liked, but it's not bad in comparison to youtube or google video. I'll try to post a smoother FPS version later. For those who have already seen it, there are a few minor tweaks, mainly audio stuff that has bothered me for a while plus some different music at the end. Anyhow, enjoy!

I like it, there's one spelling error in the opening "the Itani and The Serco" should be "the Serco", lol.
I like it 'cept for the audio quality.

I have a movie coming out soon. Just you wait and see!
That was awesome.
Damnit! I knew there was something I didn't fix!
And yeah, the audio suffered a lot unfortunately. Smoother FPS version is up now here: http://www.viddler.com/explore/epierce41/videos/2/
edit: Unfortunately I've noticed a little blurring in this one.

for the curious, the original trailer and some related videos are on youtube.
also, at the end of this lengthy post is a link to a hi-res movie of some player-ran event in the past. optionally read the long post to know what it's all about, otherwise just enjoy the fireworks.

Hey! Who posted my shitty first movie?
Oh, and, Ghost's movie (Which earned him the "Ghost" name and not "_Ghost_") is still by far the best interpretation of the game and probably the most well-done.

I love this one. Best thing ever! Nice to see it pop up again every so often for the new blood. Thanks again Ghost for all hard work and also to the pilots that helped out.
Don't forget the great Border videos =)

Ghost's combat training videos are also a nice presentation of this game's thrills.

I have no idea when I'd get it done, but I'd love to try my hand at making a "trailer" type video, something I've never done before. Is there such a thing as "stock" Vendetta footage, and how would I get my hands on it? I'll give Snapz Pro a try, too.
EDIT: CrazySpence, I just watched your video. You have some awesome action footage there! Believe it or not, I've thought more than once of that same song being perfect for a Vendetta trailer (Sunburn would be sweet, too). Do you mind a couple suggestions? Don't use a remix, use the original Knights of Cydonia. The cool buildup at the beginning didn't match the intensity of the music. Those lyrics and tight harmonies are more effective as a climax rather than repeated as the main body of the song. Listen to the song, and come up with a six minute story (it may be possible to cut a verse or chorus) to match the feel and changes of the song. Specifically, I would suggest that the large battle boil down to an intense duel between two highly skilled players as we listen to the a cappella middle section of the song, and hear "No one's gonna take me alive, time has come to make things right; You and I must fight for our rights, you and I must fight to survive."
Or do what you have in mind that may be better than my suggestion. :) This has the potential to be very awesome.

nice Ghost, I had been searching for that video after hearing about it so good to see it. Great work!
And yeah Spence, some great sequences there - and using that masterpiece of a song is a good move. I agree with the professor that it would be perfect to see a video matched to the whole song in all its dynamics.
Cool to see some great creativity here!

I'm not trying to win any ocsars with my video, just trying to provide a teaser for a mission set i've made. But thanks for the suggestions.
The very awesome part will be when it's live and you can live that video for yourself ;)

Great trailer. Ever consider offering it up officially, Ghost?
Unfortunately, there would be a lot of issues if this were to become an official trailer. There's some copyright issues with the music, talent release for the voice actors, not to mention there's a ton of stuff that just needs to be smoothed out. In short, it would require a lot more work and some additional footage as well, which is the hardest part to get. That and I don't think the devs are looking for a fan trailer to use for the game, but I appreciate the thought =)
I've storyboarded some things for a better/smoother trailer, but Vendetta doesn't have the resources for me to accomplish them at the moment. I would need things like cap ships actually cooperating and footage of ships jumping into sectors at the same time. That and a couple dedicated players who could commit to a a few hours of shooting, which can be quite boring. Anyhow, I'm not dismissing the idea, but just keeping some things in my back pocket for when Vendetta has some of the resources that we're all waiting for.

Ghost: You need voice actors or "pilot" actors, you know you can count on me. Just lemme know when and where.
SnapXPro + mission editor = mint movie potential :D
got the footage for mine in an hour with mr_spuck as the pilot

Check out BoinxTV...that might just come in handy for something like this.
