Changelog:

*** Vendetta 1.8.11
- Slight optimization to client when there are a lot of bots in the sector. (ie. BS and central hive sectors)
- All supporting sectors for Hive Bastions are now constrained to the same system as the Queen
- Hive Collectors shuttle back and forth between their Settlement and their Queen
- When the last Bastion in a system is destroyed, all other Hive Skirmish missions in that system end immediately (as successful).
- Mac version defaults to using texture compression for video cards with 128 megs of memory to try to fix texture thrashing problem.

Also, thanks to players who have contributed the following:
- Group management added to Buddy tab and tab is renamed to Buddy/Group.
- Added ability to optionally display numbers with either commas or spaces as thousands separators in the client interface. Added option to specify either none, comma, space.
- Updated some in-station hotkeys.
- Darkened capship's 'Ready Room' chat background colors.
- Darkened station's 'Bar' chat background colors.
- Player cargo lists are now sorted by name.
- There are now 9 pages of mission notes instead of 1.
- Added /clear command to clear the console.

If you are invited into a group it will add the name of the person who invited you into the box when you click on 'join group'

Group members are color coded according to faction and health.
Health is in %, i.e. 94%.
You must be in the same sector to see health %.

Number formats are 3 options, user selectable. classic numbers, 1234.5c, or comma/decimal 1,234.5c or space/comma format 1 234,5c. There is a difference in how many people segment large numbers so you have a choice now. Guild bank amounts and other large numbers should be easier to read.

Changing the "separator" mode while in station requires that the user undock and redock (or log out and back in) for the change to take effect, which is sort of counter-intuitive. Any way we could get it to reload sooner?

Wow, that's a whole lotta user suggestions that have gone into production.

the redock will refresh the display. On the guild bank or your personal account any activity will refresh it. I think I could work something like that in but will have to see what the options are.

So silentwave should have a field day updating his list :)

When we say... optimization, how much are we talking. I get 10 fps in BS.

If your framerate is that low, perhaps you should consider turning down some settings. Clearly, your computer is struggling...

ingo: you might check to see if Texture Compression is enabled in options. I think this latest patch means that all new users will get it enabled, but I don't believe it overrides existing settings.

If that doesn't help, try one detail level lower than the amount of memory your card has. Like, if you have a 128MB videocard, try the 64MB settings, etc. Part of the problem has to do with OS X having some kind of unpleasant texture management issue (nothing to do with us, and beyond our control, in the MacOS OpenGL), so we try to mitigate it with texture compression and reducing texture detail, etc.

Apple killed gaming on the mac... ;P

Cool, nice features (especially the number formating :-) ). Thanks to all.

Gaming on Mac is not dead, just overdue. One of these days they will have to wake up to the fact that people want to play games on Apple machines, and when they finally realize that Macs will almost overnight become amazing gaming machines. They're already not bad, they're a bit misunderestimated. College students are buying MacBooks in such huge numbers that this may turn around sooner rather than later.

I always use Bushisms. Even ones that aren't really Bush sayings, like strategery.
