I just released seven new "newbie" mining missions, available in all Mining stations. There will be other missions that build off of these (and release new addons).. but I have to wait until after the new version release to put the other missions into production. Hopefully Saturday afternoon.
Anyway, if people find bugs or problems with the new missions, please let me know. There will also be some new "newbie" trading missions, but I haven't written them yet.

Ok! So as far as I can tell, the entire "mine N crates" objective is not working. This'll have to wait until Andy can take a look at it. Will re-post the missions later today, or as soon as I know it actually.. works.
Ok, missions are fixed (I think?) and back online.
The "go mine this ore" missions work fine, except at the end where I'm guessing you have a "Complete this mission" button, there's an XML error that pops up saying that there's an unclosed button. This is constant with every one of those six missions...
The seventh one apparently has a button early on, and also causes this error, making it impossible to proceed after accepting the mission. Copypasted from my missionlog file (i've boldfaced the error):
{},{{name="Manufacturing help needed",id=8955,text={{"Hello, Miharu, we've heard good things about you. We're looking for someone to do some \"gofer\" work: go and get this, go and get that. We just completed construction on a small Manufacturing facility, here on this station, and we're doing some test batches to break in the factory equipment. We may need you to get a bunch of random stuff, not sure what as of yet; but we'll also teach you about the manufacturing process, and maybe give you some freebies in addition to your base pay."},{"XML Error: unclosed button"},{"\
Hey, maybe some other time."}},desc="We need a gofer to help out with a factory test"}
Similar "XML Error: unclosed button" errors appeared in all of the other missions at the end.

Crap. Ok, thanks.
After running the first mission, and completing it with that XML error, I couldn't find the second one. I checked in the same mining station, and my licenses were 1/1/-/1/1 so maybe I'm missing a requirement. This was about an hour ago.
Ran the missions up to level 4 but then nothing can not remember thought it was an eight mission tree.

You can't find the missions, because they're offline. Will be returning shortly..
back online now.
back online now.
I took some of these missions early this am when no one was one. I really like the new format of these missions. Worked super good and no problems found so far.

Took the manufacturing mission again, and what happened in the mission log after I brought back all the materials i'd been sent to retrieve made me almost fall out of my chair laughing... excellent use of timers, Incarnate... XD
similar experience to MSKanaka...
I;ve just successfully completed 5 of the new mining missions...
50 crates (carbonic)
Big order (silicate)
Aquean driller
Prem VanAzek
Xithricite Driller
then moved on to "Manufacturing Help" which asks for 10x Premium Carbonic. I put 10 crates in the hold (left over, and was in my hanger from over-mining the first mission), undocked, and redocked. I get the message "All 10x Premium Carbonic ore delivered successfully" but nothing else. The mission remains active, and I still have the ABORT button.

Just looked in my log file...
First time I've looked at these files - but looks like I need to move on to Xith delivery next? (however, as said in previous post - last message on my screen was about "All 10x premium carbonic delivered successfully"

Welcome to the crew, Creyn. Sorry I'm so greasy, we had a torsion damper let go during the factory-module install and blew a bunch of oil hoses. Anyway, with this new module on the station, we'll be able to make more equipment right here, rather than having to send ore and mineral components off to the bigger capitol and research stations. That lets us sell to passing trader as a lower cost, and occasionally lets us make items that might be costly or time-consuming to have made elsewhere.\

Welcome aboard, Creyn, good to be working with you. Premium Xithricite is mostly found in gray, Ferric/Carbonic compound asteroids, but almost always with the glowing green veins visible to the naked eye. This makes it easier to identify, but the asteroids can be a little rare. They pop up in quantity in certain parts of the galaxy, and are hard to find in others. This is no big rush, no time limit, these military contractor jobs are always cushy (unless there's a major war on). Good job out there. You're building a good reputation as a reliable driller, and you deserve it.\

Hmmm
Looks like the issue might well have been me not using "freshly mined ore".
I aborted the mission, and started again. This time I freshly mined the ore, and the mission looks to be continuing...
So I guess there's maybe a bug in dealing with "old mined ore" at the 1st step in "manufacturing help needed"?

Er, it's not a bug, it's supposed to require you to mine it. But I guess I should have been more specific in the mission text.
Glad others are enjoying the missions :).
[EDIT]: re-posted missions with clarified text. Both the xith and mfr help now specifically ask you to go mine the ore.

Ok, I posted another new manufacturing mission, which chains off of the first one.
Good work, now take a break and enjoy the holidays! :P
Heheh, good idea. Oh, and I accidentally had the "50 crates of Premium Carbonic still needed" mission offline.. so anyone who failed/aborted the first one couldn't progress. That's back online now.
FYI: the new manufacturing mission releases a new mineral scanner.

Seems to be a bug, in that I've taken the job for 40 crates of Van-Azek, and have delivered the 40 (mined) crates back, but it isn't finishing the mission.
It actually says "All 40x Premium VanAzek Ore delivered successfully.", but hasn't completed the mission (I could abort it, but not sure whether that has a downside). I've tried both undocking/redocking (with spare VanAzek in my hold), and log out/in, but the mission still doesn't complete.
(I've done a couple of other mining missions, and they worked fine).

I had that same issue tonight. Admittedly, I tried to use ore that I had saved in the station from an earlier mission, but I don't remember if it asked me to mine it "fresh". Still, it gave me the completion message, without ending, and I had to abort.
I had started the mission with freshly mined VanAzek in my hold, and I launched and re-docked immediately, and the mission happily grabbed the ore without complaint. Not sure if this is what is causing the problem, though it refuses to take any more ore off my hands.
