3.2.7 is a few days old... 3.2.6 is more than a week old... The In Progress page still says 3.2.6 has yet to be released... So what ARE you guys working on? Is 3.2.8 gonna bring better AI? New balance tweaks? What?
Ohhh!! Wishlist time!
1. Weapon balance tweaking.
2. Improved station defenses.
3. EMP mines.
Okay that's all I've got for now.

1) I want s-port homers unnerfed.
2) The Maurader gains built-in prox mines.
3) Improved station & nation sector defenses.
4) Nav computer that remembers wormholes & user-set coords.
5) Semi-capital ships (corvettes etc) with 30k-50k armor.
6) Better L-port energy weapons that can reach out and touch someone.

Moving frigates
Wandering cross-sector AI
Ooh...AI raiding parties -- comprised of one frigate and a mix of bots (75, 150, 250, and 350) - they attack a fringe sector (e.g. 14, 15, 16, or 18) and then try to drive inwards towards a nation home sector. The resident AI in each sector help them out a little. Multiple frigates could enter different sectors at the same time to in theory drive towards every nation's home sector.
Imagine this...a massive AI invasion - frigates in 14, 15, and 16, all driving towards each nation's home sectors at the same time. (14->blue, 15->gold, and 16->red). If you don't off the AI, the frigate parks in 4, 6, or 12...and bots jump into 1, 2, or 3 to harass people every so often (until driven out).
I'll admit that this is asking a bit much, but 3.2.7 seems stable enough so far. I don't care about weapon or ship balance.

"2) The Marauder gains built-in prox mines."
...this introduces the interesting idea of having some ships have a fixed weapon.
I for one wouldn't mind seeing a fixed prox. mine in place of one of the marauders weapon slots. It would be a way to give it a mine option without risk of people mounting an adv. gattling and using the marauder as an uber-ship.
Although, just having a small mine would be better. I would configure my marauder with one small mine and two missiles. Lay some mines, spin around in physics mode and shoot the rockets while pirate is dodging the mines. :-) (right now they'd be flares, but me hopes for un-nerfed guided rockets of some sort also)

Why not just replace one s-port with an l-port for the Marauder? Right below the bubble cockpit. It would be perfect for an adv gatling turret or p-mine launcher. And then maybe the Promy can get an additional l-port to balance it out.
and If oyu put an L-port on the maud and another on the prom....what about the Valk?
Doing this would make the ships horribly unbalanced.

i agree with arolte about replacing one of the s-ports on the marauder with a l-port. i think it'd be a very good idea.
If you did that all special ships would have the excat same weapons load.
I don't think adding another large to the promy is a good idea. Soon we'd be having everyone in promys with dual adv. gattling. The promy is still a good ship. I think it's just about right where it needs to be.
Not really. I would favor dropping the Prom's manuerability way low, the armor really high, and add a second L port. Make it much more like the corvette.
I would rather see fixed weapons on certain ships. For instance, 1 or 2 "secondary weapon" slots on the valk, a prox mine on the Maurader. I don't think an L port on the Maurader is a good idea. Do you really want to see it firing off screamers, swarms, or nukes?

Just an idea:
Weight restrictions.
IE if you have a hornet with a simple phased blaster, you get good manuveribility and better fuel usage (better turb tapping)
However if you load up your vehicle, you start to lose manuverability, slower acc/deceleration, use more fuel to turb, etc.
What that would mean is a lightly dressed up valk is INCREDIBLY fast and agile, but weak with it's one weapon. However if you load it with high impact weapons (rail guns, gauss) you drop down to a more powerful, but slower bomber of sorts.
Now, I don't mean you can "soup up" your ship, just makes it so you think twice before blowing all your money on the best guns which will negatively affect your ship performance.
I am also willing to suffer performance loss for too much cargo.
Money is almost a pointless aspect to this game when anyone can simply load up a Maud and make 1mil in a matter of minutes.
This would make it tough fo someone to take a maud on the 14-18 route since the cargo would slow it down and if they decide to add 3 heavy weapons, then they are hurt that much more.
just an idea, not really defined yet

as a side note, the idea of a valk with adv. gatt scares me, a lot. :(
I think even the marauder with an adv. gat. is too much. It would then be a fighter with a huge cargo hold, and not the neutral trade ship that it's supposed to be. In fact, it would completely REVERSE the role of the ship: it would be the ultimate pirate ship! That's one of the reasons why I suggested giving it a fixed mine launcher rather than an "L" slot.
But again... a small mine would solve the need for me. 3 small slots would be great if you had small mines to put in 'em.

Whoah! Who said anything about giving the Valkyrie an L-port? No, they wouldn't be all the same. Here's a rundown of my proposed changes:
Valkyrie
---
3 S-ports
Cheaper
Marauder
---
2 S-ports
1 L-port
Prometheus
---
2 S-ports
2 L-ports
Why not leave the Prometheus alone? Well, because then the Marauder would not only easily kill the Prometheus, but it'll also have room for 4 more cargo. That's the problem.
As for the bulk system, where your ship would have lower agility with more weapons and cargo, I'm a little worried about that. Right now most of the ships are very well balanced in terms of agility. So, would you use the current agility as the weaponless agility, or would the current agility be the fully loaded agility? It would really suck if the current agility was the weaponless agility, because a lot of the ships will be very sluggish with the configs we use now.
I was thinking maybe you'll only be penalized with bulk if you equip your ship with cargo. I think that would be more reasonable. Because c'mon, are those tiny tachyon or graviton rods going to turn your fighter into a Ragnarok? That would be silly! L-port weapons I can understand, but tiny laser guns should have no agility effect. The gauss and sunflares (and maybe geminis) might be the only s-port exceptions. But for the most part I'd hate to see a fighter turn into a snail for those who prefer to use energy weapons over rocket ramming.

that way if you simply want to get across the system fast, you get an empty bus with heavy/fast and you get to turb tap.
and since you are weaponless and cargoless you turbing so fast won't affect anyone.

Hehe... imagine having an enemy chasing you and you decide to dump scrap cargo behind, causing the enemy to pick 'em up and have them slow down. It would definitely create new and interesting tactics.
heheh. we'd be able to get back at icarus easily enough. :D
he's already complained about my marauder outrunning him.

me likes watercooled's idea, but with the current agility being with the "medium" load. And rocket launchers, for example, should weigh more than some random energy weapon. This weapon weight could really change ship set-ups all around.
Hold up a second, You want ANOTHER L-port on the prom and an L-port on the maud?!?!?!
You do explect to kill these bohemoths right?
Take your idea and then imagine what it would be like with 350 non-braindead bots flying them, FULLY LOADED. Say in this prom the bopt has 2 flares and 2adv gatling, or the maud has 2 guass and a screamer, THEN rethink your Idea.
This isnt X-wing, were going for a diverse base of normal ships, not 3 or 4 uber-ships to choose from.
