Anyone have an idea if the dockingbay, seen in this link ( http://viperguild.com/forimages/details.php?image_id=421 ) will serve a purpose in game sooner or later? These would be good locations to extend a docking arm or something like that for capships.

You can find them on lots of stations in nation and grey space.

I think the object/model, if targeted, says "Airlock". I could be wrong. I'll check later tonight.

Realistically: that's where the station parts are connected in the modular stations

Hopefully: It'd be cool if those could be used for capship docking. I envision a sort of enclosed gangplank coming from the capship to the airlock to onload/offload stuff.

A tunnel will telescope from this that will hook up with a docking capship, so they don't need to enter the station. When the capship undock, the tunnel will retract back in.

I've seen lots...you just have to look for them...they are station Airlocks

The original idea was that maintenance bots would use those bays, or something like that. But yeah, I guess they're airlocks too. There is no specific plan for them as of this time; Waylon just put 'em on in the hope that we could use them for something.
