Killed 8 queens today, and dint get shit.

no hive posi, no hive gat turret, nothing.

Guess when Devs adjust something they dont chose a middle way, its eihter full house or nothing.

Queens should always guarantee a drop.
Especially if there's a mission that goes w/ it.

aye i agree, they made queen hunting fun again when the prise was a hive posi or a hive gat turret.

now its pretty much back to same old same old

Noooo! Leave the drop rate small! Make dropped items RARE! That adds far more depth to the game than harvesting bots for equipment IMHO.

P.S. I'm subscribed again, so now you have to listen to me. ;)

I'm with Norseman on this one.

I agree with SOlra...if there are too many of these "rare itmes" then noobs will be flying around with them :O

I agree with SB and ghostie

as a side note; since people like to get things for their labor, perhaps the queen could always drop a damaged component of which you needed ten or so to build a powerful weapon.

Drop rate should be a bit higher like 5-10% more.

Yes, cuz' right now the queen stuff sucks unless you are under 6/6/6 (except for the gat)

anyway, I think the hive posi could get a boost, and the hive queen's guards...give those arena seekers one nerfed friggy laser or something...just make it a little bit harder, so then the drop rates can be higher.

Does anyone know the STATS of the queen-gat or hive-posi?

have you bothered to check the wiki?

have you bothered to not sound condescending? :P

/me runs ingame to start grabbing stuff.

Actually, that was my intent! It's (wiki) usually updated as soon as something new is added or changed, if you want to know stats that's the second best place to find out, next to going ingame and finding the items directly.

Has anybody considered variable drop rates? Can the devs even do that?

So I hear originally the drop percentage was 40%, now it's 10%. Across the board.

I personally think 10-15% is excellent for everything that is easy to kill: Players, Station Guards, Collectors, Assaults.

But yeah; Queens, even the big Guardians (Ornes and Devus who attack in groups of four). Maybe 25-30% for Queens. 15-20% for the upper Guardians.

As far as seekers go, I don't think they should drop anything. Test it. Take 500kg of plastic explosives. Strap it to a bazooka. Do this ten times. Calculate your raito.

edit: Although, I do think that the drop rates should be kept low until the faction system gets redone. I don't think anyone should be able to farm lawguns without a SERIOUS drop in faction standing. It would also be neat if you could get in trouble for both using them, and dealing them.

Yes, I want to vary drop rates depending on type, but it isn't possible just yet.

maybe even influence the droprate with the type of ship you are using.

ergo if you kill (or reduce) a queen to 0 in a bus, near 100% chance of a drop, if you however use a prom or a valk or (whatever else is considered optimal) your chance is reduced to a bit less then the standard value.
Apr 07, 2006 mr_spuck link
What are you talking about? I just blew up 5 queens 4 of them dropped a gun.

And I toally like the idea that it should be low!
Apr 07, 2006 Lord Q link
perhaps queens should always drop a weapon, but most of the time it's just a mid-high level comercialy available weapon, rather than a hive weapon.

It's difficult trying to kill a queen by yourself and harvest the goodies at the same time. Your queens and their entourage have probably dropped something but they timed out. It would be wise to bring another pilot to harvest the goodies then share them amongst yourselves after killing the queen.

People need to remember that the percentage involved is per kill, not an overall percentage of the time.

If the percentage is 10%, you cannot expect that you will always get a drop 1 out of every 10 kills. You can only expect that each kill has a 10% chance of yielding a drop. There's slightly more to it, but I don't know if I'm at liberty to say. It is perfectly normal to experience both the results that mr-spuck got and that Norseman got.

Queens are supposed require cooperation to kill.
