Hey All,

Has anyone else noticed that there is an increase in the amount of Hate being spread in game? It's only a few ppl in particular...but in my mind this is totally unacceptable....I even had 2 bounties placed on my Huntaar char and DragonClaw because I asked one of the chars doing it to stop..and apparently "offended" someone else in the process. Is there anything we can do about this?

I don't think it is acceptable in a game to spread hate towards ppl who are gay or lesbian...if it continues I will be leaving for good. I play games to get away from the stresses of life and relax and enjoy myself...however I cannot do that when ppl are in game spreading hate towards others beliefs. To me this is the same as Hitler did to the jewish ppl. NOT ACCEPTABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Sorry for shouting about it...but I find this extreemly upsetting that nothing has been done as of yet.

As for the Disgruntled Postal Worker who put the bounties on my chars...I have this to say:

If you want to back up your words with actions I'll meet your character and duel any time...I, unlike a coward who hides in station and spouts hate, will back up my words with action!

Yeah, I've seen the same kind of stuff happening lately, Huntaar... It pisses the hell out of me... We need more guides, and fast...

I've noticed this too. I can only surmise that the hate mongers only do their thing because it gets everyone all upset and gives them a sense of power in their otherwise helpless existence. I was on the other night when some guy was going on about gays. I noted that there was a *** server message to everyone to "bring it down a notch" and the offending party was then silent or gone.

I think Guides are one solution, but another would be not to take the bait that the mongers lay out for you. Don't give them the feeling of power they seek.

I don't know if there is more hate recently, but people's frustration tolerance is WAY down and there are many arguments in progress throughout the day in-game and in the message boards.

I think whistler hit the nail right on the head. People who just plain don't know how to make friends... or else they think they're 'too cool' to try to be nice to people. I know its really really hard to put up with all these jerks... but one of the best solutions is just not to argue with them. You find yourself in a stupid argument, just quit. I know thats not alway the easiest thing - since when you ignore them, they start trying to justify that they were right all along... but don't even think like that. Just simply type in /ignore...

Sam, IMNSHO, there is no place for these idiots in ANY community EVER. These folks are similar to the myg0t folks from the FPS communities. They go OUT of their way to cheat, exploit, spout racial slurs, whatever they need to do to get a rise out of people. They call it "raging" the game.

As has been posted earlier ... just ignore em. Hell, the devs were nice enough to put in /ignore! Thank god they did! THere are times I'dve LOVED to see that in Firearms. :)

Maybe the devs should grant nice players 'mute lasers.' Hit your opponent and he can't speak for the rest of the day.

One effective deterrent may be to let the person know they are being ignored when the ignore command is used. i.e.:

<me> /ignore Icarus
<Icarus> *** Chameleon is now ignoring you.


It's easy enough to tell them yourself, but it should also be easy enough for the devs to implement this... I believe it would be quite effective.
