This new client is sounding wonderful. Hehe, so you guys have finally been able to improve/replace the lexer; a1k0n sounded like he wanted to in the past. It'd be awesome if it used that little known scripting language you're using on the side.
Hehe... nice, Inc.
Looking forward to the "new stuff"... :)~

We want to expose as much client-side Lua as possible in the new console. We're still going through the process of doing that though.. since we want to make things user-configurable, without making it too easy to build bots and such.
So this client test will be for those people who want to risk it (like you could stop us from testing it), so... how will we go about to restoring the old client, should something catastrophic happen with the new due to our PCs? Just run the updater?
Which also reminds me, the Windows app is not separate from the updater; you have to grab that .rlb file and turn it into an .exe if you want to run VO without the updater...

In regards to the DX9 issues, I see a "stutter" while approaching stations under it. Even with a minimal feature set (i.e. lowest res, no effects) the stutter still occurs.
Switching to DX8.1 resolves the problem. The problem does not presist under OpenGL either, but OpenGL will not allow me to use shaders, making all surfaces smooth and glassy.
Not that I see anything usefull in this, but here is the log:

Edit:
Added DxDiag.txt

Good to hear Incarnate, I was getting anxious to test out the new User Interface. *something I pounded on for change awhile back*
Unfotunately with my work on the BEO project I might not be able to log onto vendetta that often anymore, however I will keep my account running in any case to
support the Guild.
As for the shanders in opengl, I expereince the same problem, Without the shaders on vendetta doesnt looks as amazing as it does on my pc with directx and shaders on.
Anyway great news to hear, and hopefully all goes well in the coming weeks.

My PC doesnt' act out like that in DX9 because my sucky card doesn't support shaders. However, I do experience some framerate issues, and what's worse, I cannot toggle between apps while VO is in full screen (I usually have my trading deebee and the VO website open at the same time), so I also prefer DX8.1.
"cargo profit calculators"... now I won't have to use a datapad to figure out the profit. This should be a nice feature for traders. If presume if I pick up the cargo from a bot or other player it will say purchased for 0 credits and sell at XXX credits?
Hrm, Lua. SolraBizna was right. I should learn Lua. I'm assuming Lua 5.0?
Mmmm thanks for the news update incarnate.
You've made my somewhat crappyly started week somewhat better! :D

Hmm. I wonder how long until I get a working Ruby<->Vendetta Online/LUA interface? Also, can we maybe have some eyecandy? Please?
Yes Incarnate, could you take time out for about 15 minutes and give us a few UI screens, would shut alot of the people who are whining up lol.
Perhaps just a shot of the main screen, the character selection screen, Loading screen, and maybe one of the UI in space flight.
Good luck and I hope we meet the deadline lol.
Thanks for the update Incarnate, being in a development cycle myself I know that making all kinds of newspost's just isn't really possible when your bogged down in coding and attempting to get the server to co-operate with you. ;)

here is an idea: give us some of the UI screens you talked about that will NOT be the actual ones, but the ones that went the wrong way. :)
What, a blooper-reel of screenshots? Oh dear.
ooh ploopers! excelent!
I look forward to tomorrow Incarnate, best of luck
WE ARE TOMORROW!!!!! WOOOOO!
