I made a newspost, about ships and the client and other things.
Also, I'm going to be out of town for a bit myself, this week, so if I don't post/respond immediately, don't be alarmed. Andy and Ray and I are all going out of town to visit respective families, but our schedules don't overlap much, so someone will always be around to keep an eye on the game (aside from Michael, who'll be here all week).
Happy Holidays everyone :).

Great work! I love the luis1.jpg When do you plan to have these avaliable in game? They look like larger ships, are they Itani/Serco/Ind/ or other?
The first looks like either an (Itani?) interceptor-type, and the second looks like a large freighter.
Yays!
Incarnate, can you explain what you mean in saying : "We're also creating a whole application process and new.. user group for those who would like to use the mission editor."
do you mean " We're also creating a whole application process and a new.. user group for those who would like to use the mission editor."
or something else?

OK...So, thank you for the news update and the two pictures.
But a few things:
A few weeks just for a TESTING of the UI?
Only 1 ship close to being done, but it stil needs some work?
I'm sorry, I guess I'm just impatient, I've been waiting for content for a LONG time. When was the last update? September? earlier? And did that update add new content to the game?
What about the levi, i never see it, it's always dead. And take forever to respawn.
Please don't be discourgaed by me, i'm just a very impatient teenager.

Mmm. News. Tastes yummy.
zamzx: fixed. Yes, I meant to have the "a" in there.
macguy: the UI is not ready for public testing yet. We're still working on it. It's missing some features, it needs a little reorganizing, and some menus have to be redone. There really isn't any point at all in our releasing a test client so you can try it and then say "it's missing some features, it needs a little reorganizing, and some menus should be redone". I know you want to see it, but it's just a waste of our time until we get it to the point where it's really ready for testing. Better to spend that time actually finishing it, rather than responding to message board posts of people saying "you have no keyboard shortcuts! I can't use tab! If I run in high resolution, the chat menu is huge! Sometimes the right hand side of the menu is cut off! I can't maximize the chat menu!" and 9 billion other things that are missing, don't quite work right, or don't work at all. It is fundamentally functional, but not ready for release yet. That's about the best I can say.
Also, I've said from the very beginning that we would be putting the new client into *testing* first. We are not going to just release the thing as a new patch. It has so much new code that I'm sure something will break for someone, somewhere, and I don't want to take the game out of commission for a day or two while we fix some dumb bug. We'll release the optional test client, and then push it into a formal release in another week or two, depending on how much goes wrong with the test.
There are a bunch of ships that are completely modeled and textured. But they do not yet have OBB collision hulls, LOD meshes, game objects placed correctly, everything set up in the objtable and tested, and so on. It's not a lot of work, but it is.. work, and takes time (probably a week to get the four ships we have ready to use). And since Luis doesn't know how to do it yet, I'm the one who's doing it. But I'm spending all my time on the UI, since, you know, we need to finish it. And trying to get mission editor stuff for Andy. And trying to figure out how to improve the website so it isn't all out of date and stupid. And trying to deal with our accounting and tax woes. And trying to train Luis in how to make.. stuff. And trying to rearchitect our server back-end. And now I'm going to go away for a few days and try not to think about any of this, and then come back and do a better job.
If you dislike the respawn time of the Leviathan, you should post alternatives to the Suggestions forum. I think Michael is in the midst of redoing a lot of that anyhow.
Anyhow, I have to go finish packing now, and then wake up in a few hours and fly across the country. I'm sorry you're impatient, and it's taking so long. But, there isn't much that we can do, other than what we're doing. Trust me, I REALLY REALLY want this release. Really. reallyreally.
really.

Lol I like the design incarnate, being a graphic artist who does alot of website development I have to add one suggestion, you might want to take one of the older screenshots/ pretty it up with alittle post work and use that, rather than using that rotating station.
I like the new interface thou. With a good screenshot/backdrop it would really give a nice feel to logining on to vendetta and come on let us see the new ships.... it mgith shut us up for awhile... lol

Y helo thar, purty pictures.
Wow, Vendetta's looking better and better. Great work, devs! As for you, Michael... Get away from that computer! Mountain Dew and pizza do not make a balanced diet, and monitor tan isn't a substitute for actual sunlight!

oooooo, pretty ships!
Heh. "Luis2" looks like a Rag and a Prom had babies...
Nice! Take a break, guys, and then take all the time you need and ignore them impatient teenagers; they'll quiet down soo enough once they have to go back to school. Most of us are not going anywhere and can wait for that update, which looks better and better with every new pic you post; great work!
Ask your new artist if he is a wing commander fan, as the raptor looks quite similar to a confed raptor and that other ship in the news post whatever it may be very much resembles a confed thunderbolt!
Um.... I think Spence has Escape Velocity and Wing Commander mixed up...
People will always be impatient, just enjoy your well deserved vacation, devs... and Michael take some time off too!
I am very, very excited about all these features in the pipe, the mission editor, the UI, the new ships, they all look awesome. As eager as I am to see them, I'd also rather wait until they are done the Right Way(tm).
We're, getting, cap, ships, we're, getting, cap, shiiiiips!
/dances the cap ship dance

go take a vacation guys.. ignore the impatient ones and just keep turning out solid features.
I prefer that you intend to finish the stuff instead of knowingly releasing it half broken, I've had enough of that crap with other games.
