Wow, it's amazing how TPG got Xith to look like old-earth stainless steel. Reminds me of the Delorian.

Weee! Six months!

And is it available everywhere then? And how about those stats?
Dec 02, 2005 Ghost link
Hehe, it says "The TPG corp". Doesn't that mean "The The Propellor Group Corp"?

>> we've decided to limit its usage by making it only available to users who have been subscribed for 6 months, or have purchased prepaid 6-month subscriptions.

Whatever possessed you to think that this is a good idea?
Seriously, I'm at a loss. WTF?

Haha since my subscription lapsed back in June I probably won't be able to fly this sucka. Ah well.

The TPG abbreviation seems kind of like an old "Dilbert" strip, where Dilbert is discussing the acronym for his new project:
Dilbert: Wally I need your help on The TTP Project.
Wally: So, what does TTP stand for?
Dilbert: ...The...TTP...Project...

I think you'll be able to fly it Leber. They won't manage to get it in game for 6 more months!*

Even though he's most probably not being serious, I think I find myself siding with Genka here. If there are any sides to side with ;-) I'm all for rewarding faithful, long-time subscribers (as well as alpha and beta players), but I'd rather see symbolic rewards and honorifics, rather than restricting access to gameplay aspects based on the length of your subscription.

Other than that, the ship is a darling! I'm having happy visions of a whole universe populated by ships modelled by Luis (though hopefully with a greater variation in texture than between the raptor and the TPG Cap ;-) ).

However, I've a question to incarnate, or anyone who has understood the news post better than me: will access to the raptor be restricted to those who has had a continuous six month subscription, or for anyone with a net value of six subscribed months? I'd much rather see the latter. Even if such stupendous clots (me being one of those) ought to ensure they always have money to renew their subscription, they have actually been supporting Guild with their money for just as long as the continuous subscripers, even if a tad erratically. And it's a bit bitter not to gain access to the new ship because I forgot to pay my VO subscription just once ;-)

Nope Ion, soon™ we will have enough ships that it wont matter, 'sides....

I want it!

(anyway, just about all of our players currently have been here for 6 months :D)

Just for the sake of agreeing with genka for once.

won't this lead to more L337ISM?

yes it will!!!!

Ion: I don't have any problem with allowing people who have subscribed for 6 non-contiguous months. But I'm not exactly sure how we're going to implement all of that yet.

Genka: Ok then. It's a pretty common practice in MMOs now (ShadowBane unlocks whole classes at 3 to 6 months?). And it seemed like a simple way to both limit the ship's usage, and give something back to our more supportive players. Is that bad?

Anyway, I'm not planning to do this sort of thing with a lot of content. It just seemed a simple way of dealing with a really neat ship that had.. a few too many polygons.
