The in progress screen is from March ,the screenshots are from god knows when. Hasn't been a patch in a bit , or any word of whats going on. You guys have a time frame for when something bigs going to happen , besides soon ?
The In Progress page has been depreciated in favor of the Design Wiki and the News page. It should probably have one last update noting that. Also, there's been plenty of word of what's going on, such as this post by Incarnate, shortly before your post: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/11477#135959
Talk is one thing , actually seeing progress is another. How about an actual time frame for a content patch.
See Inc's fairly lengthy post here:
http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/11477
No specifics as to when these things will occur exactly, but you can kinda see why not.

We talking weeks , months or years here?
Taljin: You aren't going to get an answer here. Belive me I and most of the users feel you pain. The developers won't give an exact time frame because they don't know them selves. If you want to know whats happened recently keep reading the forums.
Good Luck

either that, or lurk on #vendetta. Developing questions sometimes come up when devs are on.
I agree that In Progress needs to be officially and conspicuously decomissioned. Perhaps just a message and a link to the wiki or News.
The last content patch was 8/19/05, just over 2 weeks ago. It represented a rather huge chunk of code that includes the underpinnings for dynamically linking many features (and potential features) together. It impacts much more than the Hive. What we see of it is just the tip of the iceberg.
The last significant tweak was on 8/22/05, 2 weeks ago.
The devwiki was last updated on 8/26/05.
The things Incarnate mentioned in the post I referenced above are shorter term - months, not years, to complete. They can't really specifiy a time frame at this point, because they are wading through years-old code as they build the tools that will enable them to make changes more efficiently. Once the tools are built and debugged, they will be able to forcast with precision.

How about this then , when are we going to be able to see a change in the game , new ships , new UI , new content? The hive things fine and dandy , however I have'nt seen it impact the game , other than idle talk from you guys about it. When is something going to happen , something we can sink our teeth into. All my buds who tried the game played for a few weeks , then they got bored of it.These are folks who played both Eve and Jumpgate for years on end. I keep telling them that VO is gonna get better , but the promise of a game getting better is a pretty bad selling point for a new subscriber.
how this then.

Please read what Forum Moderator wrote. It answers your question. They don't want to tell us a time because they don't have a definite time. As for new content, go play with the new Hive. It's quite fun, although it's rather hard (being the grey space Hive, so the hardest of the 4 that will be introduced Soon&trade).
I usually make a news post every so often, to say what we're doing. I haven't done so lately because A) I've been Really Busy trying to actually.. DO some of the stuff that we're doing, and B) Holiday weekend and my own erratic schedule have delayed the normal weekly meeting (normally mondays), which usually preceeds my news updates.
I do have a lot of cool stuff to post, that I think people will find interesting. But.. you'll have to Wait And See (tm). The In Progress page should definitely be removed. In the meantime I'll just post some thingie there, saying it's deprecated.

Taljin: ...
You guys have these changes happening now on a test server , or are we on the test server?
ahhh, if anything is happening on the test server, they'll tell us. (BTW, the test server has NO station guards, have wars!)
Andy's doing a lot of funky AI stuff on the test server. Like successfully making 300 transports dock at once (getting into line and waiting for each other, it's cool). But, at present, the test server isn't usable by anyone other than us, as we've been through a protocol version change. Actually, I don't think I can get on the test server either, since Ray hasn't rebuilt a windows client.
just a thought...
how bout PICTURES of this stuff...???!!!???
like Andy's little NPC train!!!
chooo chooooo!
come on I wanna see it!!!!
