1. The Strike forces are gone every where. Be careful near stations.
2. There Is no faction lost anywhere it seems for killing a player. Be careful everywhere.
3. There are no station gauards in sedina at all. Be careful again entering or leaving stations. some people have started mining exit points at stations.
4. The Queens seem like they are healed instantly now by bots. Make sure you don't go alone to kill a queen. You can bring the Queen to 5% and the bots will heal her back to 100% in less then 30 sec. Bring Friends.
I might of forgot something but please be careful out there. All this info has been posted to the bugs forum but i thought you all should now what u are getting into when you enter the game today.

You forgot, BP is broke, plan on doing something else if you're logging on.
I just heard that the bots dissaperance was done on pourpose so A1 could see how the new hive matured. I wish we were informed of it though.
1) Strange, because it works on the test server. We're looking into this.
2) Ray and I just tested this. He definitely lost faction. Could you be more specific about what you encountered? And post it in the bugs forum.
3) Yea, we just stopped all non-hive bots from spawning in Sedina, because it was easiest for testing. We'll fix this.
4) If you get a queen below 25%, she'll be healed by every guardian and collector in the sector. If they're close enough to come quickly, she will heal fast (though I think your estimate is a little faster than reality (lag, maybe?)). We'll adjust this based on feedback. Personally, I think the Bastions are about the right difficulty (if it weren't for the lead-them-away exploit). The Stronghold, on the other hand, is much too easy (partly because the Levi isn't being healed properly- looking into it)

I just posted to the bugs forum just now and gave specifics about the faction sytem.
I just tested the queen thing. Its true I got a queen doen to about 20% exploded and came back in less then 1 min and it was back at 100%.
JB
Edit: And I really think if you were going to kill the SF in all zones and change the faction sytem i think you shuld have told us !!!
(The above was not being disrepectful. I think we deserve to be informed of major changes.)

We didn't purposely change anything with the strikeforce or faction system. This was a *really* big update, though the visible effects of it aren't (or weren't supposed to be) big. This is the nature of programming. You add features, and things you didn't think were related break. You test and test and test, and immediately upon release, the players find a bunch of bugs you can't understand how you didn't see.
Edit: Of course, it really doesn't help that these two problems aren't happening on the test server, where we, uhh, test ;)

momerath42: code gnomes.
I understand how you can't know everything about an update or what u break but You did intentionally kill the bots in sedina at least. When where you planing on telling us about it? I understand you are staffed by only 4 people but you could inform us before we have a problem.
Maybe Black Goldclaw whould have got only 10 free pks by station killing and not the more then 65 he got, if you mabybe informed us about the changes you intended on making.
I'm not upset about the changes you made and didn't "realize". I'm upset about the changes you made and didn't inform us about.

We nuked the bots in sedina more than a month ago. We removed them *all* because it was easier for testing, and not as a design decision. We had completely forgotten that the station guards would be missing when we released. We do intend to put them back, so... though perhaps we *should* have known, if we had, we would have fixed it rather than telling you about it.
We would never "intentionally" do anything that so obviously only decreases fun, and I think you could have taken a step back and realized that instead of making sarcastic comments like "When where (sic) you planning on telling us about it?"
By the way, we think Ray just found the strike force/npc-trader bug. We're going to try to squash a couple others before we restart the server, but we'll definitely do that tonight.

Ah! You're not upset at all then!
Good work man!

I just "fought" racer (thanks racer) in azek I-12. He killed me and i killed him right near the station and we got no faction lost. The staion gaurds were there but didn't move to defend either of us.
I also poset this in the bugs forum. Would you like me to test it in serco and itani space too.

The no-faction-hit thing comes from one thing: The no fire zone.
Once your standings are temporarily set to kill on sight, they can no longer be affected. Believe it or not, this is not new. I think it might have something to do with the old exploit where a person could actually kill strike forces sent after him for violating the no fire zone and gain faction standing up to a point where he could dock and not be attacked by station guards or strike forces, but still be listed as Kill On Sight, meaning that he or she could break the no fire zone as many times as it pleased them. At least, this is what I gathered over the last few months that this "feature" was in place.
Maybe you'd know this if you listened to more than just yourself.

Genka: I will not start a flame war with you. But this is new, after the last update. I realize that killing someone in the nfz gave you a temp KOS that would be reset after you die or leave a station. But killing someone out side the NFZ did take away faction before. and without the Strike force now every one is subject to being killed by lmines or swarms while trying to undock. That is not acceptable. If it was just limited to grey space it would be, with warning maybe ok, but it’s not its happening everywhere it seems.
So if you would like to fight i will go there in another thread. But I’m trying my best to be civil and still give the developers the information they need to know to fix the problems. This thread needs to stay open and not be locked so everyone knows what going on.

Please leave the station gaurds out of Sedina! I've had more fun trying to take over stations there than ever before! However, lmines can be cheap in this situation...but prox are easily avoidable!

I'm sorry, just one more thing I'd like to clear up before I leave this thread for good, seeing as how you assume my intentions are nothing but hostile.
When you say "But killing someone out side the NFZ did take away faction before." do you mean that it doesn't now? I really don't see why you go from there straight to the lack of strike forces. The only anywhere near valid reason for such a jump I can think of is that you assume the no fire zone went away with the strike forces, which is quite silly. I can't say I've tried shooting someone outside an nfz since the update to see what happens, but I've got an excuse: I really don't care about this "problem."
PS: I'd like to inform you that Sedina is the only place which lacks station guards, and those are more than capable of taking care of any stray miner they might happen upon. As for the swarms, they are no less effective or lacking in consequence than they were on monday. Only difference now is that you don't get a strike force on you, or any bots at all if you happen to be in sedina.

JB killed me earlier at the 3K jump limit in sedina L-2. He took no permanant faction hit, tho it actually acted like the NFZ had been viloated because he said it told him he was temp KOS.
It looks like the SF/Trader/Border bots issue is more complicated than we thought. It may not get fixed tonight, but we'll be working this weekend too, so it will be fixed as soon as humanly possible. Thanks for your patience.
Keep reading Genka.

And no faction hits in uit space. And I'm assumeing, but only heard about it, in itani and serco spaces. And yes:
"2. There Is no faction lost anywhere it seems for killing a player. Be careful everywhere."
Placing lmines at an exit dock is a valid "tactic" now. I think the developers and especially the players should be made aware of it. And you might not care about it but read what i said first and then comment. This is an issue that could really effect the game. Especially to new players.
So if anyone thinks i said anything out of line, execpt Genka, please comment here. And I will stop making posting and trying to help people be aware of what i think is a major problem.

"This is an issue that could really effect the game. Especially to new players." Yes, JB, it is definitely affecting the game right now, but please keep in mind that these are bugs and they will be gone tonight or tommorow (or maybe sunday if they're really stubborn). We appreciate your bug reporting, but again, we did not do any of this on purpose! We *will* fix it! Statements like, "Placing lmines at an exit dock is a valid "tactic" now." give people the impression that we're condoning taking advantage of these bugs.
