IS THE COALITION OF ITAN STILL CAPABLE OF DEFENDING THE ITANI NATION?
The war at the border rages on, seemingly without progress for either side, but recent events suggest that the ITAN mounted defense may be starting to break. While ITAN and it's allies have had the advantage of numbers, their pilots are being overtaken by the superior tactics of a much smaller number of Serco pilots, who are consistently defeating ITAN pilots.
ITAN has also failed to take into account mercenary combatants. ITAN failed to recognize that privateers can positively contribute to the war effort. These mercenary combatants were picked up by the Serco military, and have caused massive casualties to ITAN's forces.
Other events, such as the recent kidnapping and ransom of CNN reporter Sally Koshuni, cause many to call into question ITAN's competence.
Koshuni was embedded with ITAN Lt. Lebermac on a ride-along to report on the supposed strength and skill of ITAN's forces. Lebermac was reportedly drunk and was easily dispatched by Mecha Touriaus, a mercenary that operates on the border. Koshuni's stasis pod was picked up by Mecha and held for ransom. Adding insult to injury, ITAN's finances are apparently so tapped out from Lebermac's excesses that they could not afford the ransom. (CNN has since recovered Koshuni, and billed ITAN for the cost)
Analysts from all over the galaxy agree that ITAN's current failings put the entirety of Itani society at risk.
"They can't afford to recover a reporter!?" Asks Dr. Korky Pasquel, "And they're charged with fighting off the superior forces of the Serco Nation?! We're doomed! DOOOOOOOOOOOM!"
What is causing the sudden lapse and possible complete failure of The Coalition of Itan?
Political analyst and long time critic of the Coalition of Itan Samuel Rowbotham believes it's a "failure of leadership. Every election cycle they somehow manage to elect and even sorrier batch of losers into the leadership. At this point, ITAN would be better off led by a box of crackers."
Another man has this to say: "It's Blak! [The now disbanded Black Lance Guild -ed.] Has to be. They're like 50-armed puppeteers, pulling their strings all over the galaxy, steering every one of us toward their own devious end game!"
Still others aren't concerned with the cause, but the possible result: This could be the beginning of the end of the Itani people. If the Itani's sworn protectors are failing so completely to protect them, it's only a matter of time before the Serco Nation pushes past the Deneb stop gap and into Itani space.
Despite the dire situation, hope remains, but not in the Coalition of Itan. Says Samuel Rowbotham, "ITAN is over.
"The time is right for the Akanese to return..."

Stretched out in the Itani hyde chair before a fire that slowly crackled in his hearth, the man known as "Dr. Lecter" reviewed the most recent news from CNN. He'd been secluded in Akanese space for a month now, and little of interest had come across his desk in that time.
One story caught Lecter's eye: IS THE COALITION OF ITAN STILL CAPABLE OF DEFENDING THE ITANI NATION? He snorted with laughter. But on reading further, he realized it was meant as a serious question, rather than the rhetorical joke he'd thought. Leber's incompetence--yet again. Of course, Mecha had been piloting an SCP--he'd have needed it just to deal with a Valk, "the Doctor" chuckled to himself.
But the story's final quote was interesting indeed. "Dr. Lecter" swirled his scotch and mused on the possibilities.

Eh, i kill plenty of valks with my SVG. He just got unlucky and caught me in my jackhammer n3 SCP.
i blame [ITAN]s losing in bp on the fact that we beat the serco in ctc last week by almost 1000 points and is already winning this week.
and on the rule that [ITAN] members cant use swarms, even against proms

Thats a new one... cant use swarms....
Heh, swarms are a banned weapon for [itan]?
spidey is still in the guild, right?

ha ha ha **** off i dont swarm other players
ITAN remains a thorn in our sides. That said, the largest thorn they are not. My desk has far more concerning reports regarding murdering freelancers, Trakus Shar and Theopolis for example, but the list goes on.
Little has changed on our end thus far, other than mild amusement of course.

Good to see the new Serco goal is "amusement" and not "invasion". Point for the defenders.

Careful, someone might dig up video footage that says otherwise.
It's a good thing that Itan doesn't disallow running from a fair fight either, or you wouldn't have a guild to hide behind.

It's a good sign when your guild becomes the focus of impotent threats on the forum, instead of actual ingame impotent threats!
C'mon, [ITAN]! Let's show 'em that mild amusement!
That being said, my current tanked UIT standing has made it next-to-impossible to do any trading to raise some of the 40 million.

For us, 'amusement' and 'invasion' are synonymous.
And tisk tisk tisk, murdering freelancing Itani slime? What IS this universe coming to!?

That's slime73 to you.

And this from the guy who used to have an /explode bind to deprive others of PKs. We are glad of the /explode countdown that exists now that you helped make necessary. Also you should be the very, and I mean very last person to complain of swarms.
I don't know of any rule against swarms, I say use what you want, just don't complain about it.
Have a nice day :)

The most obvious question has yet to be posted.
"Still"?
"Still"?
The SkyCommand Assault Regiment [SCAR] will continue their attacks on the Coalition of Itan, and continue to spearhead Serco assaults on Itani forces. We constantly welcome new members and are willing to back UIT sympathetic to the Serco cause. Together, working as comrades in arms, may we completely crush [ITAN] for good.
