There will be a BLAK sponsored race, The Deneb Run, on Sunday at around 1:00am gametime (According to my /time) in the game. This is the same time as the race last week.

Rules will be:
1) Racers must race from Odia M14 through Deneb heading clockwise back to Odia M14.
2) Race starts in Odia M14 near the station.
3) Contestants must be within 100m of me before the start
4) No shooting before I start the race.
5) You die and you're out (so no /exploding)
6) All weapons and ships allowed.
7) First person to get back and dock at Odia M14 wins the first prize. (1 million creds)
Second person back gets 600k
9) Third person gets 400k

Put your name down if you're interested. I won't start it with less than 6 racers.

Hey Martin. Just wondering why do you alwsys go through serco space 1st? Why not the other way around?

The results from the Deneb Run: Race 4 are just in. Silentsuicide built up a strong lead and held it for most of the race to finish 1st and claim the 1 million credits first prize. 0, Calder and Dr. Lecter duked it out for the whole race. Final results were Dr. Lecter 2nd, with 0 3rd just seconds behind. Calder bringing it home in 4th. Shape, Mavrick and untilmyaccountgetspaid all have different interpretations of "clockwise" and failed to finish and Mecha Touriaus had modem problems and had to withdraw. Tune in next week. Same time, same place.

I hadn't seen anything about it on Friday when I checked so I thought that it might have been postponed.

I'll be there next time. Can't have silent win 'em ALL. Although that is a SCARY good lap time, Silent.

Turrets or no turrets, we should consider bringing this back.

I'd love for a reborn Deneb Run, but right now the turrets are sort of a diceroll since sometimes they'll start shooting as soon as you enter the sector, and other times they will only start when the warp animation finishes...

What about the other race, the one through UIT? Something corporation or other, if I recall. Most of the pirates have UIT admire so turrets should be less of a problem.

Corporate Sector Run IIRC. Yeah it would be more forgiving, but maybe over too quickly. Better than nothing though I guess. ;)

At least until something can be figured out for the turrets.

Can't we ask the 'gods' to be nice and give temp factions boosts to neutral, during the event for everyone that is racing ?. ( so us UIT KOS players can join in :P )

Ugh, no way. I say we hold one and just consider the turrets a course hazard for those of us who are -599 or lower with Serco or Itani.

Maybe put some folks with Rep guns at certain wormholes? if you're a good enough shot, you could hit folks turboing

What about a Grey Space Relay? Edras to Odia to Helios and back.

And, I guess if there are racers that want a 'challenge', have a "Gauntlet" that runs through turret sectors, but the Hated or less pilots would be the only 'worthwhile' participants dependent upon what faction monitors the sector.

That's not a bad idea...

But what if we go one further, make the Deneb Race into a team event, 3 team members, 1 for Serco space, one for itani space, one for grey.

Then you go: Serco-Grey-Itani with docking at specific stations being the "baton handoff"

The race would have representatives at each of those stations in the bar to guarantee that one pilot entered the station before the next one left.

(Would be great to include UIT in this relay and make it 4 racers, but then that requires you to either go Serco to itani, or increase the length of the race considerably by making the itani and serco racers do the length of nation space both ways.)
