Free-to-Play, Crystal, and Trading Ships

So, I definitely want to have a black market, and I want player construction of "everything" if possible. But the fact that the "Free" tiered people are now paying for ships with Crystal is kind of a new wrinkle.
At present, F2P users pay crystal when buying some ships. Naturally under this mechanism if they don't "buy" the ship, and instead receive it from someone else in a trade then they won't be charged crystal to use it.
Solution: Charge the crystal on first activation of the ship by the current owner.
The only potential snag I can see arising is making sure that the activation flag isn't lost if the original owner jettisons the ship and then picks it back up again.

Lol I like the idea but let's not jump the gun here. Ship trading isn't even in yet. :O

An effective solution Draug. I would agree that the activation flag for dropped cargo requires management too, as this would affect other areas in the game as well.
